But we're not under any pressure to let him go, I really hope that if he is being sold it is for an obscene price... especially as we may well be battling to avoid relegation with West Ham...
Considering that Hughton doesn't appear to have yet returned from holiday this seems like a strange move, but given the build up its not entirely unexpected. I just hope that firstly we've secured a decent fee, and secondly that we've at least got half way to lining up a replacement.
No replacements not liking this one bit seems we're not linked with anyone at the moment even if it is a rumour. If we get in that Zigic or Lovenkrands I will not be impressed.
Just because we don't have a replacement lined up (we might actually do) there is no need to panic. We aren't into July yet! As long as we got at least 5m, I don't care anymore.
From a fan outside looking in, he's not worth that and you woulda done well if you did gt 5.5m for him and will be able to buy a much better replacement with that money
Its good money for someone who doesn't want to play for us anymore. They are a strange lot these footballers.
where'd you get the valuation from? can't see it being anywhere near £5.5m - west ham are very reluctant to pay more than £3m but i suppose if its structured so they might only ever have to pay around that fee barring performance related fees then they will be happier. its no use to us at all but the club have been put in a difficult position by the player. he has made it abundently clear that he wants out and even the arrival of hughton has been pretty much ignored. and in answer to the leeds fan, from the outside he may not be worth that but i can tell you he's worth a hell of a lot more than the fees quoted - how much will it cost to replace a 15-goal striker in the premier league? more than £5m, i'm sure.
It's the Daily Fail so.......... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...West-Ham-raise-Grant-Holt-bid-5-5million.html
hmm, not keen on the add-ons part if true. if they want him then they should stump up all the cash. we've accepted, or are about to accept an offer from west ham - been told by a very reliable source. i wonder if it will alert villa now...
plenty of good ball kickers around take the money and move on, different era now , lets not hang on to history, to be honest lambo dropped him last year for a third of the season and in that period Morro did fine, sadly I think he will be a forgotten bench sitter wherever he goes, thanks for the fun Holty your hat trick against scum will live forever but that was in the past we have our future to sort now, close the door as you leave byeeeeeee
