The problem is Hobbs doesn't want to sit on the bench, he wants to be playing. That is why he was made available for transfer.
Shame for the lad, feel for him tbh, put in some towering performances last year, bit like wayne brown during 2007/08 but I suspect his immobility would get found out in the premiership, again I refer to brown v wigan

Although I'm a fan of Hobbs and would've rather we had chosen to keep him, if we get £1million for him given the circumstances then that is a good piece of business for us. Good luck to him wherever he chooses to go.
