    If this World Cup is remembered for nothing else (Tim's goal exepted) it must be remembered for the fact that Wayne Rooney actually scored a goal.

    I was in England for the 2006 tournament and remember the papers being full of Rooney. I didn't know who he was, then, and after the tournament was over, I was no more the wiser. One has to wonder that with one goal in three (?) world cups, has this guy earned his coin?

    Wonder if Leeds want him.

    I think that might have been only his second goal in actual world cup and Euro finals, since he came onto the scene in about 2004. 2 goals in 10 years at major finals. Yep. True world class <doh>
