One of the King's Road's best known 60s 'emporium' as it was and in the final shot as it is now, one of my regular early morning tea-break stops, but back in it's day I remember using the hairdresser's (when I actually had hair) as well as the record store within. An sad dovetail over 5 decades...

That’s an architectural disaster. Something funky and different blanded out into nothing.

London as it looked on the 2nd of September in 1666, the first day of the Great Fire. By the incredible Spanish artist Rocío Espín. So much for "the dark medieval city huddled over alleys and mud."

That bloke in the doorway on the right is letting everyone down. Not wearing a hat. Disgraceful.

Before it became The Chelsea Drugstore it used to be a pub, The White Hart.

To the left of the building is Royal Avenue which is said to be the fictional address of James Bond.

The film 'A Clockwork Orange' was filmed in the Drugstore ...

The Drugstore is also namechecked by The Rolling Stones halfway through 'You can't always get what you want.'

Thanks for that Nines, it obviously has plenty of history attached to it. Kings Road was the place to be in the 60s/70s and I certainly spent time down there in 1972 as I had a girlfriend who was at the Chelsea School of Art in Manresa Road and I'd while away time before I met her usually in one of the record shops that were along that end of the road and it would then be on to a Wimpy Bar (no expense spared ) the McDonalds of that era.

As for pubs called the White Hart, I'm sure we could do a thread on those that have been turned into blocks of flats, McDonalds or Tesco Express...

Looks like the queue went far back.
Possibly a 'far-queue' was being observed?

For fans of steam trains (and rather splendid Cathedrals) everywhere - view across the bridge over Ludgate Circus, 1947. Even Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman have managed to get into the picture.
