Just seen on the news that they are investigating the police again and there could be prosecutions.

I thought I'd tell you a story that I was told about it by a Liverpool supporter recently.

At the time leading up to Hillsborough my friend said it was common practice for thousands of Liverpool supporters to turn up drunk just before kick off and force their way into the ground without tickets. My friend said he saw this happen on a regular basis at numerous grounds and on numerous occassions. He had also heard about plans for this to happen at Hillsborough on that day.

One of his friends had bought tickets and offered my friend one, but he was not able to go as he had something else on, I cant remember what it was but I think it was a work thing. His friend who offered him the ticket and some other friends went to the game, they turned up early and went into the ground with their tickets as they should.

Just before kick off the planned thousands without tickets turned up and surged into the ground. My friend told me one of his friends who he would have gone with died, which over 20 years after clearly still deeply affected him. When he told me this he said it was why he moved South. He said that all of the stuff happening recently about trying to blame the police is ridiculous, it was caused by a section of Liverpool fans who were trying to get in without tickets in a planned and organised action. He thinks that the police handled it badly, but to blame them is wrong.

This came from a Liverpool supporter, who as I said had a friend die in the tragedy but who said he also knew some of the fans responsible. I havent embelished on his story or added my views on it, just said what he told me. Bill Shankly said football is more important than life or death. This story quite clearly proves him wrong.

Never mind facts then, lets go with what your mate said. ****ing idiot. It's ****ing crazy that **** like this is still spouted, the ground wasn't full there were no "thousands" of fans without tickets and all this is fact if you bother reading.

My friend has also read this thread and told one of his friends about it and he told me about it, and we all agreed that this thread was a load of utter ****.
