having read many a column over the past few days i thought i would say my peice about hillsborough, hopefully now all those involved who blatantly lied can be brought to swift justice.the culmination of events that day lead to the tragic and needless death of 96 football fans,in those days football fans were still paying the price for the hooligans of the seventies.

many grounds had fences around the perimeter and bred an atmosphere of intimidation however it's dressed up.it's obvious to most that the lack of adequate police training in those days contributed towards the tragic events of that day.

having been a football fan of over some 40 years iv'e witnessed first hand the attitude towards football fans, sometimes the baton swishing was in first unnecessary and secondly to try and induce a feeling of fear.

thankfully football stadiums these days are in the most a much more civilized place to watch our teams play as stewarding and policing have improved to the point where the trouble makers are kept from the decent fans.
hopefully the families of the 96 that died that awful day will see the lier's brought to justice and be able to move on after a long and painful 23 years.r.i.p. the 96
