With our game PP vs Hull Sat, we go to Sheff Weds. For the record Sheff Weds - * BOTTOM of the league form over the past 11. * Lost last 4. * Bucket loads of injuries We REALLY should be looking to win this. They are an absolute mess at present. Coupled with the fact Big Mick has NEVER lost a league game at Hillsborough - so you know what's coming. A loss! haha. How it works. COYB - hoping we can win this.
The position we are in Mick should be going all out to win every game to give us an outside chance of making the playoffs, a draw is not good enough.......will he go for it....will he ****.
Everything points to this being a classic Mick 0-0 dour and boring contest. But I actually fancy us to get the win given we have been defensively solid of late and due a bit of good fortune. I expect we'll line up the same as at Preston and Waghorn will end his drought and we'll scrap and just about hold on for another 1-0 away win. Once again Bart being given Man of the Match
Agreed that we should be winning this match, regardless of how highly you rate this side and the players, they have to beat a team in this sort of poor form. However, this does seem like a game we'd fluff and end up losing. Having said that, our record against the weaker sides in this division has been consistently strong and I think we will continue the "flat track bully" image we're giving off, 2-1 Town.
Last four away from us = 8 points. That's a very good haul. I always DREAD games like this.......... they have around 14 players injured, lost 4 in a row, Mick's never lost a league game at Hillsborough... we've lost once there since 1995.... 2-1 Sheff Weds. It's how football works...............for us!?
Looks like Mick is going for it with that line up 5 defenders 3 defensive midfielders a winger and 1 striker
Depressing, what have we got to lose? Celina has to play while we have him,and now newbie Carayol is off.
What a worthless half from us. We're playing with 8 defenders and 2 attackers. Hopeless hoofs upfield and we lose the 50/50 most of the time. Attacking corners are taken by Waghorn leaving nobody who will actually score from it, the combined number of goals from the rest of the team probably amounts to as many as Martyn has himself Defensive corners are defended by 8 players in the box and Wahgorn and Sears protecting the short corner, we don't have anybody further forward than the 18 yard line to give us an out ball. Defensive headers are not aimed at a team mate and we have absolutely no width. Hyam is the only one trying to keep the ball on the deck. The owls in contrast try and play from the back and keep the ball down for the most part, they have looked far more dangerous than us
Where is our old fashioned creative play-maker, foot on the ball, pass it around, splitting the defense and surging forward with pace? Dream on!
