I have spent quite some time recently perusing the comments made on our site and have come to the realisation that most of us are calling for change. So what does that change constitute?

The subject of Derek McInnes, of course, comes up the most often and I'm glad to see that common sense seems to be prevailing when it comes to the question of should he stay at Ashton Gate. Most posters accept that he took on the proverbial "poisoned chalice" and are now of the opinion that he must stay and rid City of the dross.

Clearly the current crop are divided and unmotivated and unless that changes soon we could fall through the trap door to possibly many years of hard labour.

A lot of the blame on this site seems to be more directed at previous managers and senior management, a train of thought that fits well with me. So what to do?

Here is the floater I suggest and I know it could bring down the house on me but here goes.

There are a lot of savvy football people out there looking for work right now and how about bringing in a well respected name immediately to help and advise our manager for the rest of the season. Now I know you are going to say "how would DM feel about that?" but if it is presented that this new senior footballer will not pose a threat to his tenure as manager but would possibly create a new management team.

The supposed new person is being brought in under an apprenticeship for the position of chairman and would allow Derek and this person time to find out if the partnership would work to their mutual advantage.

In a perfect world this new management team would get us out of this mess and build a senior management team that would take our club forward in a professional manner. They could jointly discuss the problems that exist and how to change the entire attitude at the club. Sexstone would be shunted over to the rugby club immediately and the rebuild for next season would start now.

Change is what we need isn't it, so why not go for the full meal deal?

I agree with the theory but what would/could this person do in the short term? It won't help us stay in this league IMO. Maybe at the end of the season (wherever we finish)?

I would personally prefer that money to go to a quality CM that may do the same job, but on the pitch for us.

(hope you enjoyed the week end mike)

Had a truly wonderful birthday weekend thanks banksy (apart from the obvious).

Just wanted to throw an idea out there without throwing darts at any particular people within the club. We all know that major surgery is needed at AG to exorcise the devils from our past. It just seems that we are always doing things on a random as required basis rather than undergoing the major re-invention that we need so badly.

I was posting on the belief that we need to act in such a way that we supporters have our faith restored in BCFC. Major change is the only thing to regain our trust.

The truth is Mike there are still 3 teams below us, as long as it stays that way then we can all have a sigh of relief.
But if the worst happens, we as fans can't do much apart from getting behind the team next year.
I have been thinking about our players not being that bad but in all honesty who would you keep next season?

The fat lady ain't singing yet, it's just a blip we will come out of it, all this talk about Donny having 2 games in hand they ain't won them yet plus we still have to play Coventry and Portsmouth.

    Keep believing

I will always believe and I would like to be there for the Derby game knowing we are safe. Games in hand are only good when you win them - right?

Reading all the tweets on BBC Sportsday Live regarding the sacking of AVB it seems that lots of clubs have a player problem with them thinking they run the show. Sound familiar?

    How's the back?

The chelsea situation is quite similar to ours IMO, young manager with a squad of over paid under performing set in their ways footballers. Fortunately we haven't got a trigger happy owner...

The back is healing nicely thanks Mike.

I agree with the Chelsea situation we seem to have players that won't change for the management, until we drop that first goal we seem disciplined then after that, they try and do it their way and lose shape.

Can't wait till this season is over or clarified what is happening to us, start the rebuilding exciting times ahead
