well played shrews, 2 points tossed away like confetti at crewe. shrews had 8 shots on target to crewe's 2 and collins scores in the 5th minute. i shall be interested read reports of this game. now let us survey the damage, shrews drop from 3 to 4 but unbeaten run continues. elsewhere oxon suprise the rotties 2-0, chelt come back to salvage a 2-2 draw at home to cobblers, gulls win 1-0 at creepies, southend win 2-0 at brewers. i just hope those 2 lost points at crewe do not come back to haunt town later in the season. league swindon 33 31 67 chelten 34 22 64 southen 34 19 62 shrewsb 33 17 61 torquay 33 10 59 crawley 31 15 56 oxford 33 15 54 and gills are making a run, also town still have a useful game in hand. next week monday southend v crawley! tuesday morecambe v chelt shrews v oxon swindon v daggers gulls v shots town can ill afford anymore slip ups and i suspect oxford may produce fortress greenhous's greatest test. floreat salopia
With our crap away record, and their solid home record and quality players, a point isn't a bad result on the face of it. From what I can gather, we played fairly well and were the better team in the first half but not so much in the second period. I think we had more clear-cut chances as well.
what is the point in uncle graham leaving bums on the bench until the 80th minute. it was obvious to me 266 miles away that once crewe had scored an element of change was required, certainly wroe should have come on and gornell should have replaced our marv who may be going off the boil just as steam was raised. furthermore if we are serious about promo gt needs to address towns piss poor away form. come on gt what gives, i suspect town may get nil points on tuesday. prove me wrong shrews
Rather too critical. On paper (according to the league table) this was our most difficult away game of the final six. A point is pretty decent.
I agree, Kasule - there is no way in this competitive league we are going to walk every game, especially away. If we get Joe and Shane back soon then things are working out nicely for a triumphant run-in towards automatic promotion.
if i was overcritical, i apologise. i have been emailed by a relative in cheshire today who was at the match and he said both teams played attacking football. both teams going forward. our goal was farcical, in that the crewe keeper threw or kicked the ball, touching jamie collins bottom and straight into the goal. town continue their campaign and continue their unbeaten run
