Perhaps we can keep all the WUMming to one thread now. Whilst I'm not watching the game (always a let down watching England play), I heard he's not having a brilliant game. I think we should just put this down to burn out to be honest, he's played a hell of a lot this season when he clearly isn't ready to yet, anybody who is judging him on this game, or even the second half of this season is clearly an idiot.
He's a young lad,and its not his fault he cost so much money. As long as he puts in a decent shift for Liverpool and shows the same enthusiasm as he did when he signed then I'll be chuffed.
Ive seen him play for the majority of the year, and tbf he has potential, but its never really shone through, the cross for gyan against wigan was probs the best thing he did all season (first thing that comes to mind) he will come good given the right coaching but the u21 game tonight has been typical henderson this year when played in central midfield, hes a right winger
I heard he made quite a few mistakes at the beginning, but I wasn't watching so I'll take your word for it.
Walker was ace Our best attacker and best defender. Henderson was chasing shadows when Spain had the ball. As was the entire side. When we did have the ball and decided not to hoof it from the back, Henderson had a lot of one touch passing and it was all accurate. I was very impressed. Nice through ball as well. He's an attacking player full stop, he's not a good deep lying / DM player. At all. Impressive with the ball, rubbish without it. I'm happy with what I saw as long as we play him further forward. That deep and he goes missing.
If you look on the Sunderland board, they are all saying they're not surprised he's played badly because he's not meant to be in CM. They're convinced he's a RM/RW and that's where he plays best, so hopefully that's what Kenny has bought him for and not for his ability as a CM. Playing players out of position is the best way of: 1, Lowering their confidence. 2, Halting their progression. 3, Making them seem crap
oryt chaps mackem in peace Henderson for some reason when he plays for England he plays in a completely different role to what he did for us. The majority of Sunderland fans would agree that the lad is a good right midfielder who can whip in a decent cross but he is totally wasted (at the moment, maybe with experiece he could play ther) in the centre. When in the centre for us he was allowed to roam around and given abit of freedom which he doesn't get in the national side it will be interesting to see where he plays for you guys but I wouldn't go off anything from tonight, like I said he never played that role for us.
Jones was very solid in defence. Although Fergie needs to beat the hoofing out of him. It's worse than Carragher. Wellbeck finished perfectly to equalise. For the other 92.9 minutes he only managed to try and get sent off for excessive yellows. Clevery didn't play. Although he managed to get taken off as a sub. The whole team except Walker didn't do much.
