Clubs have to "live within their means" or they will not be allowed to play in European competitions.

 

More or less, no more living on credit.

It's essentially a system to try and prevent or at least reduce the inflated wages and transfer fees across Europe, and says that clubs aren't allowed to spend more than they generate for a prolonged amount of time (starting 2012-13 I think)

 

i think there's something about player wages not being over 70% of the club's income?

Definitely. We're one of the few EPL sides making the effort to adhere to the rules already (we needed to like, we were down **** creek without a paddle in terms of finances)
