Ok, lots of ins-and-outs happening at the moment so just wanted to try and work out who we have with regards to our 25 man squad:

    GK
    1 Friedel
    2 Cudicini
    3 Gomes

    Fullback
    4 Naughton (home grown)
    5 Walker (hg)
    6 BAE
7 Rose (could be on his way) (hg)

    Centre back
    8 Vertonghen
    9 Kaboul
    10 Gallas
11 Dawson (looks to be on his way) (hg)
    (Caulker) (hg)

    Mids
    12 Lennon (hg)
    13 Bale (hg)
    14 Modric (on way)
    15 VDV
    16 Siggy
    17 Parker (hg)
    18 Sandro
    19 Livermore (hg)
    20 Jenas (on way?) (hg)
    21 Bentley (hg)
    22 Gio (on way?)
    23 Falque
    (Carroll) (hg)

    Forwards
    24 Defoe (hg)
    25 Adebayor
    (Kane) (hg)

Now, i'm sure i've missed some people off, but we've not got 25 at the moment and there are 4 that look to be iminently on their way out.
We have youngsters like Kane/Caulker/Carroll etc who we can add for free though

Please point out omissions and i'll edit them in as if i remembered them myself. Thanks ;)

Can't help but feel another striker and possibly a defender might be on the way, at least

  2. We need at least one more striker, a CB, and a creative midfielder (if Modric leaves).

just edited in who i think meet the home grown rule. We seem to be ok in that department even with likely departures.

I think you're misinterpreting home grown, as far as I know HG means trained by a club in England for a certain number of years before they're 21?

"Home-grown players do not have to be English; home-grown players are defined as those who "irrespective of nationality or age, have been affiliated to the FA or Welsh FA for a period of three seasons or 36 months prior to 21st birthday"

Fabregas was a home grown player for instance.

Does Sigurdsson count as homegrown? I think he does.
    Reading from 2005 to 2010.

If Rose goes out on loan, then I think we need to bring in a left-back or at least a versatile defender.

Luongo and Coulibaly will qualify as homegrown players in time for the 2014-5 season, for example.

and until then they don't have to be 1 of the 25 anyway. What a stupid rule this is. Why can't they just change it to 8 English/NI/Scottish/Welsh players?

Ekong will qualify as homegrown next summer, so if we need another centre back then...

I noticed a comment about Luongo on the BBC sports update thing earlier.
They asked about who people thought was the signing of the season so far and an Ipswich fan sent this, via Twitter:
"Massimo Luongo on loan from Spurs looking like a shrewd acquisition so far in our (Ipswich's) solid start to the season."
    Sounds positive. <ok>

who the bloody hell is Ekong? You're making him up right? Ekong!
I do remember once we were linked with a centre back named Kong. I always wondered whether it was a joke based on who he'd be playing alongside.

More googling. Was brought up in Hoofddorp. The dutch really are great.
