Hull City Supporters' Trust statement on recent name change issues. http://citytillwedie.com/hull-citys-name/
I think it's a poor statement. Now the merger has happened and the HCST has been born, it needs to appeal to all fans and really should have started afresh with a more neutral stance. Whilst I agree with every word of it I think it's too personal and provocative. Certain words need not be in there and other things could have been worded differently to portray the same message in a more calm, understanding and professional manner. By my own tastes its spot on but to the pro Allamist rebels it will be provoking and now the writings on the wall.
WHy is this posted here and not in an "off topic" clause? I'm assuming anyone interested in the cause already visits the site in question as it is. Is not606 a sponsor of the trust or something? All this does is start a tired and endless argument. Which personally, has made me completely uninterested in the cause. Everything in that statement has already been discussed to death on here this past few weeks.
Having said that... There is a different problem to overcome with Twitter. Unlike Facebook Groups, where you can pretty much just change the Group name independently of the URL (NB. The URL of the Facebook page remains HullCityOfficial), Twitter on the other hand just has a profile name, and it appears as though every obvious variation of Hull Tigers has already been taken (presumably by Allam enthusiasts rather than the club itself). Therefore expect the official Twitter feed to become something like HullTigers1904 soon.
It's about Hull City, so it's clearly not off-topic and it will be posted on all the City message boards, as these statements always are. It clearly states it's a trust statement, if your not interested, don't click on it.
Unlike the Club’s owners we will continue to respect the FA’s process on the name change and will wait for their verdict,
Good statement, though I think recent events show that CTWD should have held fire on becoming a Supporter's Trust. Their identity is almost as confused as the club's.
Dont really get it. The FA cant stop the name of the programme being changed etc etc. As for booing Deano, kinell stand up for summat FFS. He's there as a representative of Hull Tigers, if you disagree with Hull Tigers then boo him.
But I thought we didn't tolerate politics? Which this clearly is. And you have your own website. Why are you highjacking Not606 to promote your stance? (a stance we know full well already). Why don't you start a forum section on the site itself. Unless you're still trying to recruit those on the fence I don't really see the point of mixing this matter with a football forum. We ALL know the stance of the trust and the stance of the Allams. The FA is siding with you and frankly they're just following rules that were created long before CTWD. DOn't really see the point in campaigning publicly. If you want to bitch about our owners do it on that gorgeous site of yours. You're telling people to not read yet you shove it in their faces.
Agree with this, Chazz. Seen several NoNameChangers say how they wont Booo Deano because he's a legend etc etc etc, well why the **** not? Fact is he has come down on the side of the Allams. All a bit too uncomfortable now for the NoNameChangers. Next they'll be stating Deano doesn't really mean it, that he is desperate for the money, that he has been bought off by the Allams. Re-writing history.
