http://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk/page/LatestNews/0,,10430~2708188,00.html Were banned from signing because hayes cant get any one to buy the wasps? he takes the piss. the way he runs the club is awful. it will be interesting to see how much we are in the red? views lads?
dont believe it : hayes, get you ****ing act together, we dont want to be put at a disadvantage for nnext season because of this (i think thats how it works, i wont confess to completly understanding this!)
if we stay up, its stops us building the squad again to grow stronger . hes times up now. the books will be bad anyway.
Ah,after reading the link i understand.Stuck out in Somerset and new to using the internet i am not well informed, but a mate in HW tells me we are 6 million in debt and both clubs are now up for sale so what is the truth?
i think its around 7.5 million in debt now ,alarming amount of money for a club of our size.steve hayes has supposedly put both clubs up for sale since failing to get his way and a big move to the white elephant stadium in booker collapsed.since then he has been very quiet and has gone into a major sulk.worrying times indeed.
I imagine as an auditor myself that probably the reason for the delay is that the auditors will not sign an unqualified audit report until a decision is made on Wasps. The auditors cannot in theory sign a clean audit report unless they are satisfied Wanderers are a going concern for 12 months from now, part of their process in assessing this is reviewing budgets for the next 12 months. If budgets have not been prepared then they cannot assess our ability to continue as a going concern yet. It does not necessarily mean that we are not a going concern. The fact that it influences our budget for next year, presumably means there is no guarantee that Wasps will be at Adams Park next year, which despite many people's hatred of Wasps, the rent from them is a major source of income.
Finchy - from what has been said on the club website your views above are correct. There are other signs that there is something brewing - the season ticket renewal letters were out a month early and the cut-off period for the discounted renewal is also a month early at the end of April rather than the end of May as in previous years - surely a sign of cashflow issues. On the Wasps front my assumption is that no deal will go through until there is certainty that they will still be playing premiership rugby next year - otherwise the value would significantly drop, which would impact Hayes plans.. whatever they are.... and us!
i got a newsletter from the club last week supposedly from nikki bull about renewing my season ticket,as has been said a month earlier than usual, does that mean something is brewing behind the scenes,i dont really know but it does make me more suspicious of our so called owner
finch,i am not really up on these sort of things but i do know of a company that i used to work for that got struck off the list by companies house and fined for late entry of their accounts ,and were fined severely,is there any more punishments we can expect apart from a transfer embargo
Companies House do not know their a*se from their elbow! The club will get a £150 fine now, rising to £375 after a month, then up to £1500 if 6 months late. These can double for serial offenders but a mere drop in the ocean compared to our current debts. Eventually if you don't file after a considerable amount of time then Companies House may look to strike a company off but that wouldnt be any time soon.
The plot thickens... I received an email yesterday stating that the WW Trust members on the board have resigned due to the non filing of year end accounts. Details as follows:- ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Saturday 31 March 2012 Dear Member It is with regret that the Trust Board announces that David Roberton and Don Woodward have both resigned their positions as Trust Directors on the Wycombe Wanderers FC Main Board. This decision, taken on Friday 30th March 2012, arose as a result of Wycombe Wanderers FC's failure to lodge its' Financial Accounts for the year ending 30th June 2011 by 30th March 2012. Such failure, coming as it does despite considerable efforts on their part to ensure compliance, rendered David and Don's positions untenable and resulted in their decision to resign from the Main Board. Both David and Don have committed significant time, expertise and energy to their roles as Main Board Directors over several years but are clearly unhappy at the Club's inability to meet its' stipulated financial regulatory needs. We are confident our voice and influence in the Club won't be diminished by this action. As you know we have built excellent working relationships with the senior figures at the Club and it is these relationships which have given us the opportunity to influence operational issues and to have a much greater overall involvement. David and Don will continue in their roles as Trust Directors and, together with the Trust Chairman, Trevor Stroud and the remaining Directors, will continue to work in the best long term interests of Wycombe Wanderers FC. Rocky, I think one of the league rules is that you have to file accounts on time otherwise the the club is placed under a transfer embargo. If, as the club suggests, the accounts are filed within a couple of weeks then normal service resumes. However, as Chairboy100 highlighted presumably no deal will go through for Wasps until they are safe from relegation (if indeed that happens) as their value could be massively dependent on this. This is likely to continue to delay the accounts so the clubs aim to get them filed within a few weeks may be ambitious. Plus it is difficult to know how many are actually interested in buying Wasps anyway!
