Before Cisse and Ba come back I'd play

    -----------Best--------------

    Jonas------Vuckic--------Hatem

    ----Guthrie-------Cabaye-----

    Santon--Colo----Willo----Simpson

    ------------Krul---------------

crosses into the box aren't going to do us much good with only one good striker in there.

Lets just attack and cut in. We look far more dangerous working our way into the box then crossing balls into it.

People do realise Pardew loves to spew tripe out of his gob on a regular basis through the press, right?

The 'not working hard enough' excuse was exactly that, an excuse.

Facts are for whatever reason he was refusing to play Benny for Mr Obertan and needed a kop out to justify it.

If he had played Benny and it was clear he needed to up his work rate then fine, we could accept that. But how can anyone say i'm not playing someone because he doesn't work hard enough when he hasn't even played to show it?!!! Give him a chance you clown, thats all we were asking for.

We have had to tolerate 4 months of Obertan when we could, sorry SHOULD, have had Benny in the team. Shocking from Pards..............just think of the extra points we could have in the bag.

But to answer your question, I thought Benny was the hardest working player on the pitch along with Jonas. So f*ck you Pards. I also noticed Obertan didnt come on in that 2nd half.....so now he isnt even good enough for a cameo?!!! How does that work than?

    F*cking ridiculous.

I make no bones about it with Benni, I think Pardew has been wrong not to start him more recently. Early on he didn't look ready but I thought he persevered with Obertan too much, and now with Shola. However maybe Pards wants to use him in midfield now we have Cisse, so that is why he wants him on the right as opposed to behind Best. Time in the position and all that. He is a class act for me and glides past people for fun. I think you must be willing to sacrifice a little for these types (we did with Ginola/Robert etc). On Saturday I thought he did quite well. Obviously it was his graft that got us the breakthrough but lets not forget we did see the other side too with him giving the ball away cheaply for the fifth goal. Yes we were trying to push our way back in and he was maybe trying too hard, but you can't get away from the fact he it was cheap possession he lost. I liked his attitude and he was one of the few who went from whistle to whistle on Saturday in terms of effort and not feeling sorry for himself when they got a bit of fortune. Thought our heads went down awfully easily after the first pen. It was like a sense of injustice washed over (rightly so with cheating Duff), and we used it as an excuse instead of dusting ourselves down.

Now you're complaining even after he started?! <laugh> But seriously though, I think this week it was all about mind games with Jol, saying he wont start blah blah blah, then Ben Arfa on the team sheet.

No, im just saying HBA justified beyond any doubt that he should have been in the team weeks and weeks ago. He also justified this unfair 'lazy' tag as bullsh*t. He also justfied myself and others screaming til we're blue in the face to play him instead of Ober.

My views on the whole Obertan and HBA issue were, Pardew = Insane. If you dont believe me then Albert Einstein said it best; "Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results".............we had months of Ober doing the square root of f*ck all and our best player who plays in the exact same position sat on the bench.

    Like I say, Insanity.

Disagree, I think Ben Arfa has not been ready until Mid Nov - and then we went through a bad patch where we couldn't afford the luxury of letting him find his feet.

Thats fair enough. You're the first person to come up with something other than 'he wasn't 100%' bullsh*t.

....altho I reckon he was ready earlier than Nov. :D

Definitely seems to be going from strength to strength now though, so I really hope Pardew doesn't have a knee jerk after fulham and put Raylor in to keep things tight.

Did anyone else think the 4-3-3 was working so well we could persist with it? Even after the ACON, as I think Ba has the flexibility and work rate to play off the striker if needed:

    ---------Krul
    Simmo Willo Colo Santo
    -----Tiote Cabaye
    --------Jonas
    HBA----------------Ba
    ---------Cisse

It was working well, however....how many chances have we actually created with it in the 2 games we have played? We only had one shot on target in the whole of the QPR game and for all our possession did we actually create a clear cut chance other than Coloccini volley? Not really.

I think the system will work but only with Best up front. He works harder, is more lively and is better in front of goal. Bye bye shola.

What has happened to Vuckic by the way?! If he is fit, get him in the team with Jonas, Vuckic and HBA across Cabaye and Guthrie in midfield......Now that wud give me an erection.

    Team to play Brighton:

    ---------Krul
    Simmo Willo Colo Santon
    -----Guthrie Cabaye----
    HBA-----Vuckic---Jonas
    ---------Best----------

Wouldn't work week in week out though (Even though this line-up was my preferred one at first after ACON), although Ba did play their for West Ham.

He should play every game. He is a class act and one of the most gifted players in the Premier League.

I think he works hard, as people say - Obertan, Ameobi are 2 players that don't.

Also, yes he loses the ball, but I watched Barcelona last night and Lionel Messi (although he scored a sensational hat trick) lost the ball on so many occasions, he tries to run past players and it doesn't always work, but at least he tries to do something. Would rather that than Mike Williamson hoofing it up to Shola and losing it there...
