Normally I would have put this in the ARGRS thread - but it deserves a thread of its' own! The Mr.Jobsworth ( Hi Viz ), brigade of Burton are such miserable sods, that they make Victor Meldrew seem like a laugh-a-minute. The Gills fans, in the first half, decided to have a bit of fun. One guy had his woolly hat taken from him [by his mates]. The hat was then tossed from one end of the group of Gills fans - to another.... and so on. Each time it was 'passed', it was greeted by a cheer from a small group ( containing the owner of the hat ). This lasted for a few minutes - UNTIL one miserable old git in a Hi Viz jacket, decided that he would put a stop to the 'fun'. Having got close to the hat, he confiscated it, and walked away with it in his 'possession.' .............naturally this was greeted with a chorus of BOOS and an obscenity beginning with W. The owner of the hat then approached the steward - probably to try to reclaim it---------- do you think the steward was going to allow that ? - NO -- instead a protracted and heated argument ensued - resulting in the police being called, then a scuffle, and eventually the woolly hat was taken into custody and escorted out of the ground................ accompanied by its' owner who was being helped by the police in this venture. it really is incredible how bereft of commonsense a person can get when they put on a Hi Viz jacket.
Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd add this, as it's relevant to Burton, but not the football. I was astonished / delightedly surprised to hear a track at half time from a band that I don't think I've even heard on the radio, let alone at a football ground Saw them supporting Conor Oberst at Manchester Cathedral in July 2014. If you like this then listen to the whole album - Stories Don't End. Wonder how many of the other 2,749 present knew what it was?
