Me, I'd give him a couple of seasons with his own squad of players. And,ignoring all the injuries, it does look a very strong squad. We need stability: TF is planning for the long term. The whole management structure on the football side is predicated on Hughes being manager: if he went, there'd be another 6 or 7 of his team of coaches/scouts that we'd lose as well. Or perhaps that's what some of you want... chaos!

I'm not really sure what the answer is, but one thing's for sure, something needs to be done fairly quickly, otherwise we're playing catch up again

My only gripe with Hughes is his distinct lack of ability to change anything tactically......he keeps playing wide men with Faurlin and Granero on there own in the centre and we are left exposed defensively....just like at Spurs where he didnt shut the game out by plugging the midfield with an extra midfielder like Diakite......what happens they break and we are counter attacked and Spurs scored.....this happend a few times today with Reading...they were just too crap to make anything from it.

Thank you Rodney for speaking sense. To sack the manager and staff now would be counterproductive to what we're trying to achieve here. The massive turnaround this club has been undertaking since the takeover by TF is still in it's infancy. If any of you out there even think TF entertains the idea of sacking Hughes then you're in for a massive disappointment.
MH is here for the long haul and is vital to the transformation we're undertaking. Without comparing us to City, but they too have been through an enormous transformation. When they got their first rich owner and MH was appointed their facilities (except the stadium) were poorer than for instance Southamptons (which at the time and more so now have better ones than us). All I'm saying is it takes time. Speaking for myself, I'm willing to take a slap in the face now and again for the greater good, as I believe we're moving in the right direction. But I respect others for not feeling the same way, just don't happen to agree.

Can't be arsed to trawl through masses of Hughes out bollocks but five games into the season with a heap of new players is not the time to get rid. It was poor today but we were excellent at Spurs, very good against Chelsea and half-decent against City so it's hardly a disaster thus far. Have a bit of faith in this group and they will come good.

He looked like a dead man walking after the game tonight, it isn't happening but he needs a bit more time.I think it would be very foolish to sack him now.

It was only the poxy league cup, season starts Monday.

No, just no. Although I wouldn't care if hughes was sacked. Less than 4 points from the next 3 games and he's gone imo.

I've had more than enough from him, hes been given everything He wanted and is still failing.

What I've got against Hughes is he never gives an honest answer, it's all soundbites. And like the guy from Man City said in North's post he manipulates things so that it's never his fault.

I think his tactics in a game are okay, our second half against City deserved better and we did good against Chelsea as well. What he needs to do better is communicate to the players what he wants.

Have to say I tend to agree. With him, it's always 'we tell the players what to do and it's up to them to do it' so when it doesn't happen, it's not his fault. Watching his post match press conference was painful. He started rambling on about the players being at different fitness levels (again) and getting everyone up to speed (again) and you could sense even he knew the excuses were running thin.
