I dunno like, I reckon I'd take the diplomatic immunity rather than do time for killing a kid - I'd have no desire to spend quality time with Bubba Some of those womens prisons can be pretty rough too. She might have ended up forcibly eating some mackem lasses fanny on the daily - the fear was real.
Ffs. If she was to face trial, I reckon the bigwigs would see to it that she got a suspended sentence anyway.
More than likely. I don't know why the judicial system works like it does. There are far better options with greater chances of reform. Give them a season for Sunderland and make it mandatory to attend. That'll soon fettle the ****s and make them think twice about a second offence.
If the situation were reversed they'd have the CIA over here and investigating the situation whilst heavily lobbying for the UK wife to be extradited. Hell they'd have probably made a TV show or two out of it by now and UK celebrities would be heckled about it in interviews. Just look at everything with Louise Woodward and Amanda Knox, they protect their own from the lawful intrusion of other states and tear down outsiders with unlawful intrusion of their own. When it comes to things like this they are ridiculously hypocritical.
Our government are no different. The US just have more clout to apply pressure. Both ourselves and the US will have waived immunity over the last decades at various times. But largely it will depend on the individual, who they are connected to, how important they are. Then all governments will invoke it when it suits. Put it this way, if a member of the Royal family had blatantly committed crimes, do you think our government and the US would come to sort of agreement? Of course they would. Its the way of the world and I'd struggle to be too anti american on it. We've got the longest history in this kind of ****. We invented it
You should be more concerned about the criminals running free in the UK, that we won't extradite back to their homelands. When are you due extradition by the way?
