Another fairly positive piece from the club and Harry.... Keep it going lads!

THE QPR squad return for pre-season training on Monday morning and the message is clear from boss Harry Redknapp – ‘it’s all systems go.’

The R’s first team will be put through their paces at Harlington for the opening five days before travelling to Devon on 6th July for the first of two pre-season trips.

Exeter City provide the first opposition for Rangers on Thursday 11th July, before Redknapp’s squad return to London ahead of a fixture against League One outfit Peterborough United two days later.

The squad then head out to Austria for five days, commencing 16th July, where they will take on Turkish giants Besiktas and Italian Serie A outfit Udinese Calcio.

Then on Friday 26th July – just eight days before the season opener against Sheffield Wednesday at Loftus Road – QPR face Southend United at Roots Hall.

“The lads are back on Monday and it's all systems go,” Redknapp told www.qpr.co.uk.

“We've got a couple of good pre-season trips - one down to Devon, and one to Austria - with some decent fixtures as well, so we're looking forward to it.”

Redknapp is under no illusions regarding the importance of a positive pre-season campaign, emphasising the need for everyone to be on the same page from the first session.

“Pre-season is a vitally important period,” he said.

“We’ll need fit players to get out of this league, players that can play week in, week out.

“There's some players we know we can get fitter than they were last year - there'll be no excuses.

“Some of the lads looked overweight and not as fit as they should be last season. Their weights have got to be right and their fitness levels have got to be high.

“We're looking to get ourselves promoted this year and we'll need everyone at their peak.”

How can anyone, fans and management alike, expect these poor underpaid overworked players to possibly stay fit enough to play every week?! Peter Taylor and the rest of the players union need to stand up to bullies like redknapp. Before you know it he'll be expecting them to put 100% effort in and, god forbid, be able to pass the ball to each other!! ;-)

This article was taken from the Player interview where Ian Taylor must have had to bring in a second hand electric generator and plug Harry in to it before hand but still failed to get a spark of life into him. Maybe it's always been Harry's way to be understated and appear unenthusiastic, but he still comes across like he really does not want to be here and is praying someone will come and offer him a way out.

It the usual IT or Paul Morrissey technique of getting the interviewee to respond to dull mundane questions with a Yeah, of course.

    Boring!
