Young defender signs one-year contract extension YOUNG Râs defender Michael Harriman has put pen to paper on a contract extension at Loftus Road. The 20 year-old right back â currently on loan with League One side Gillingham â has signed a new deal until the summer of 2015. The Republic of Ireland under-21 international told www.qpr.co.uk: âItâs nice to secure my future here for another year. âIt gives me the confidence to go out and enjoy my football, not worrying about stuff behind the scenes.â Whilst results at Gillingham have been indifferent so far this season, resulting in a change of manager with Peter Taylor replacing Martin Allen, Harriman is happy with how his own game is progressing with the Gills. He added: âOn a personal note, Iâm happy to be playing regularly, Iâm enjoying it. âThere are some big teams in League One, the likes of Wolves, Sheffield United and Bristol City, so itâs a great learning experience. âHopefully after my loan spell I can return a better player and push on at QPR.â I'm pleased to see this. Is there any chance we may see a QPR team in the future with him, Hitchcock, Sutherland, Ehmer and Shariff (and not in the League Cup)?
Highly unlikely as much as I'd like it, if two of them progress to be regulars it would be an achievement...
