seriously the Scottish championship is very poor
    and that's about his level

although the experience may work out better for all

Got to agree. It is about League 1 level, at which Vukic is probably a real star

Vuckic had a few opportunities here. However the problem he had was his attitude. I was shocked by his laziness. To see a young lad trying to make his way in the game squander the opportunity because he didn't want to run was a bit bewildering. As others have said, I think this is one who may have found his level.

A bit harsh! He looked as comfortable as any other player last time I saw him play, co-incidentally his debut vs WBA (2-3), where he hit the bar and forced Foster in a fantastic save. However, he has been blighted by injuries. Go figure for a Newcastle player <doh>

Now he's gone past the age where he's a promising younger, and the talent has been wasted, for us at least. I'd say it's mostly down to injuries though.

He has been unlucky with injuries (or perhaps we have a problem...) However he is a one lazy bastard. He might have upped his game since gong up there, may have been the shock to his system he needed. Honestly though he literally couldn't be arsed to run about. He essentially was looking for a role where he was the focal point of the entire team but with no work rate.

I don't mind players who bring ridiculous talent (whether he is does is questionable in itself) cheating a little, there is a balance to be had. Like Robert, Ginola etc, as long as others were doing plenty of ugly work you can cheat a little. But Haris wanted to do nothing. I couldn't believe that he didn't seem to understand the basic concept of closing down the opposition when they were in possession. If they are in your area, its kinda of a given you'll make an effort to make things difficult even if you are not aggressive like a Bellamy or Beardsley. He just stood and watched, and strolled.

On the flipside I know someone who knows him very well, lives in the same building on The Grove in Gosforth. They reckon he is a really nice lad, very polite and not your typical flash young so and so.

Are we talking about Vuckic here or The Loan Ranger or Sammy Ameobi or...

To be honest there are masses of kids who had the talent but not the brains or attitude to realise what a chance they had.

Vuckic I liked but felt he never seemed to be given an extended run part of which was down to his innate ability to being injured. He definitely seemed to have the ability whenever I saw him but I felt, nothing factual, he didn't appear to be "trusted" by the Coaching Staff and needed to be "trusted" to have confidence to play. It's the same impression I have for a number of young kids who have come through over the years but never quite made it, eg, Campbell, and Armstrong recently.

Digressing on to Armstrong can anyone explain to me how Armstrong isn't trusted ahead of Rivierre, Gouffran et al to start a game but is trusted to come on when we are losing with 15 minutes left to save the game ?

    This! Bang on!

About three or four years ago, we appeared to have a whole stream of 'promising' youngsters. NONE of those are current first team players! NONE! Either the club has killed their talent, or they were never really that good.

Vuckic has had injuries, like many others, but like Pouchy said, he never really forced his way into thd first through effort, despite looking like he had the ability. AND despite being given opportunities.

Also agree with Trev, if Arma is deemed good enough, then give him a go. No way is he a bigger gamble than Rivi-fckn-ere. Give the young lads a chance now to see who might make it.

He has never shown any glimpse of promise in any game he has started for us. In fact he is still living on the hype given to him as all the "big" clubs wanted him. He has not progressed. As said above he was very lazy or very static depending on choice of vocab and sadly not cut out for the Premiership. He is too slow and yes he has a wickedly powerful shot sadly due to his slowness a defender is on him. In a slower league or lower league he should be fine in though never did anything at both Rotherham or Cardiff. Scottish Championship/Lower English Championship at best for him

It is bizarre that Armstrong cannot get a look in. I can only assume that there has been some decree from above that Riviere must play because we spent 6m on him. Either that or Carver is semi ******ed. Or both.

Riviere obviously looks absolutely mint in training. Well, he's being coached by the best in the world.
