I would like to see Southampton go up. They have been near the top all season. I think all the three teams who go up will struggle though.
People say that every year though and it never happens. Southampton have probably been better over the course of the season than any of the 3 who went up last year were, and they've done fine.
Just a gut feeling I have. For some strange reason I think Reading will really struggle. I think Norwich and Swansea will have the dreaded second season syndrome as well. Say Southampton do go up and Cardiff in the play offs. And then Aston Villa go down with Blackburn and Wolves. We will have Southampton, Reading, Cardiff, QPR, Norwich, Swansea, Wigan, Bolton all in the premiership. These teams seem a million miles from the Man Utd, Man city, Arsenal etc.
I agree with you about Norwich and Swansea - Norwich's squad is a bit like ours in our first PL season (doing the job at the moment but who exactly are these people?) but I think Southampton will be the next Stoke to be honest, they have the money to do it. As for your last paragraph, we have a tendency in this country to think the bottom end PL teams are bad but they're only crap compared to the top teams, compared to other countries' bottom-end teams they're very good.
It's a funny old world....... http://thegamesgonecrazy.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/allardyce-furious-at-disrespectful-snub.html
Who'd have thought little old Wigan would survive so long in the PL?? Reading have won a lot of games 1-0, I think they rather than Saints will struggle.. Nobody's "done a Derby" for a while.. they WERE poor..
