Not surprised, would presume they have stumped up the asking price or close to it, as it is very early for us to take a cut price.
Hence why we have a friendly match against them! This deal was done weeks ago, just hope we get a decent fee and that ME invests all the money in the team! Good Luck Cressy and thanks for all you have done for us!
2.5 million and not a penny more, nailed on we have undersold!! Saying that, he is not worth more, imo!! To us he is but market value i would say no way.
We have got options at Left Back so not too worried about him leaving! I always thought he was overated!
Quick question about this paying Tranmere thing, If for example West Ham gave us 3 players that valued to around 3 million for cressy, do we still have to pay Tranmere anything? I wouldn't be surprised to see Henderson coming our way if he is still with them.
BBC reporting its basically a done deal. Fee in excess of 2m. Dont sound like we are getting anywhere near the 3,4 or 5m previously rumoured.
If the fee is for arguements sake 2.5 Million then we shall have to give Tranmere 500K leaving us with 2 Million! Is that really enough?
If there is a player involved then the price normally includes a value for the exchange player so I assume that the total value of the transfer is (for example) 2.5m which is either 2.5 cash or (for example) 1.75m cash and a player valued at 750k. No player swaps are mentioned so I assume it is a straight transfer. Is it a fair value. Thats a more dificult one. On one hand I really dont think he had his best season and his crossing isnt exactly brilliant. On the other hand young british talent normally bumps up the prices and when compared to the fees paid for Lallana, Shaw and countless others it does seem a bit short. I think I would be happy with 2.5m IF there were additional clauses added aswell and to be fair its not West Hams fault that the player has a sell on clause which means we are likely to net less than 2m from the deal.
Unfortunately JWM I think young Mr Williams is well out of our range as a signing. A bit like Gio a view seasons back, a 6 month loan is likely to be the best chance of getting that quality with our current status. Also I cant see us spending 100% of the recieved fee on new players anyway. Probably 750k max will go to MM.
There are plenty of decent players who will be looking for new clubs this Summer that wont command a fee so maybe the money will be spent on wages!
This cressy chap has no premiership experience. Hence the mediocre fee for him. Bit of a low risk transfer for West Ham. They tried for olsen but couldn't afford him.
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/28148831 A little bit more solidity to this story. Not really the cash amount many of us thought we would hold out for, maybe he is asking to leave too. Hopefully we will see some of the money reinvested into the squad.
