The snooze appears to think we have now signed Halford on a permenant deal for £1m from Wolves. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/triple_swoop_has_cotterill_winning_his_game_of_catch_up_1_2844485 What a fantastic piece of business if this is true - but like most things, I won't believe it until I see it on the OS! Another 3 players due soon too - one of which will apparently "be a real coup for Pompey, one to set the Championship alight"! Kakuta from Chelsea has been rumoured! I don't think there are any of us now doubting the new owners intentions!
"....one of which will apparently "be a real coup for Pompey, one to set the Championship alight"! This is stirring stuff Mike! Can't wait...........
I had been hoping we'd be able to get him on loan for the season. If we get him on a permanent deal then so much the better!
We are awaiting the confirmation from the FL regarding Halford but he has agreed personal terms for a deal around £1m - great piece of business if you ask me!
The only part of the Championship I would like to set alight Mike, is a big red flatpack bowl just up the road.
Good news about Halford. Good news seems to be coming thick and fast this week. About bloody time. If he can get it together with Rocha again like last season...and both stay off the injury couch or cards, we should have a pretty solid back line, especially if they can get Koncheski.
I can only imagine SC has completed his back line and GK now - we need a left sided midfielder, a striker and a utility man who can play as an attacking midfielder and then I am happy we can compete next year. At present, I think a lot of 0-0 games are on the cards! We have a very strong defensive back line now, with back up also. For once in a few years I am feeling confident for the coming season!
I have to say there was a real buzz at the training ground today, something that has been missing for a while........CSI are having a mjor impact right through the whole of PFC, from the playrs back to the girls in the office, it's amazing to see how different the place feels The buzz this afternoon is that Halford, who by the way was training today, has agreed terms, wolves have a greed a deal and it just needs to be rubber stamped by the FL, as does every thing we do whilst serving the CVA.......... there are a further 9 players targeted by SC, who is hoping to get a least 5 of them for the intrim with more in Jan...... I have a real feeling about this season.........bring on the flat packers.....I feel another 4-1 coming our way for chrimbo BP
it,s Friday & I already think you have consumed too much alchohol. Your biggest excitement this season will be gates over 15000. The red get more than that for friendlies. You are a club = & city = living 50yrs behind the times. Pompey - and Portsmouth - have no future. Get out while you can
Nah delboy, definitely not that. My suggestion is idiotic, as clearly he has forgotten where his club has been for the past couple of seasons.
Good to see you with that blue blood passion mike, i remember on the old 606 that at times you had know idea where your club was heading. Best of Luck for the season and as long as you finish below us and obviously don't take any points, then it would be good to see us both get promoted and punch it out in the Top Division. Good to see some of the Old 606 names have kept that local rivalry passion going.
We can show the preimiership what a real derby match is. None of these tinkerbell Mersyside derby or Manchester derbies.
Great to see you here possum. It's about time us blues had something to feel optimistic. On 606 I was posting through the bad times, and its fans like you who took the time to step back and see the plight we experienced as a little more than a matter of rivalry. I am feeling grand at present regarding the new season. The new owners we all hoped for are pulling it out the bag at present and for this time I am a happy blue. To be fair, I would be happy sharing the spoils this year with our neighbours, both finishing in a comfortable mid table, possibly a flirt with the play offs, but you, like us, are taking small steps to building something special for the future. Let's represent the south coast this year and both push to show the premiership once again what a rivalry is all about.
