Watch this space! Can't comment beyond that as I still don't know for sure what happened at Brighton for him to get the boot.

Personally I think he will do a good job, but has he got the players to work with?

I think he could be a good appointment. If the reasons for his Brighton dismissal were as the rumours suggest a rather disgusting poop related incident then whilst his behaviour may be a little suspect, it shouldn't prevent him from doing a good job. I thought he was doing quite well at Brighton, so no reason to think he can't be a success there.

That said, as Thai says does he have the players to work with. Fair enough Di Canio was a complete basket case, but did he have a point in saying that the was a laziness in the senior players and will Poyet get any more from them?

Bah! (Not the cheating Chelsea handballing kind)

He doesn't have any experience of managing a PL team though does he?, it's a big step up from the Championship to the PL, but he is a good manager, can't deny that.

i think poyet is a considerably better manager than di canio. whether he can make any headway with that lopsided squad is another matter!

Sunderland is like a large boat going in the wrong direction and will take time to turn around. Whether the players will have faith in him I don't know because unless they believe it isn't going to happen. My gut feel is that a relegation might be the best thing for them in the medium term and then come back a more united club.
