He's got a support on he's been injured without a shadow of doubt and even spoke of it a few times. I've sprained my ankle playing before and I can assure you it impacts your performance.
When we sit 3rd needing 2 wins I not so sure but if we lose him Joelinton and longstaff it's going to become difficult
However, we’ve dropped points that maybe we could have got more in has he been rested. We also wouldn’t be in the position where Longstaff (probably out for rest of season) isn’t playing and we are playing with the 3 remaining centre mids where two of them are carrying injuries.
No way. What are we protecting him for, we are trying to get into the champs league here and injured or not we are better with him in the middle. Imo the drop off is large if we play someone else there as he is able to make the team tick
Funny how we then went on a run of poor games after he was rushed back. Maybe we’d even have performed better in the cup if he had not been rushed back earlier
Maybe they'd have done worse ..... what we do know is that newcastle have won 8 of the last 10 league games and sit 3rd.
This is not about the last several games but the first 4/5 games after his injury. If he had been given more time to recover we may have won the cup and we may have done better (notice you focused again in the negative version).
Have Newcastle even won a game without him playing... besides the point I'm making is that you'll never know but we do know this has been a successful season and a win Today will put Newcastle on the cusp of champions league football.
Soo why you entering a discussion when you’re not going to discuss? Anyways, let’s just hope it doesn’t turn in to a long term injury caused by playing on with the injury in the first place. Unless we’re planning on selling him - runs for cover
