http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36280188 Interesting that he's happy to take a back seat on this. Good thing or not? Some of our Board's signings haven't been that great have they?
Bad thing , big bad thing . Best scenario for me is Guidolin makes all the recommendations and Jenkin's does the thumbs up or thumbs down .worst scenario is the other way around .
Kiff it all depends how you read that, is he saying that Jenkins will handle all the financial side of thing whilst he and his scouting staff will recommend the players he wants or is he saying Jenkins will pick them. If he is Jenkins is a disgrace and should leave well alone. Because if that is the case, he should have told him to stick the job where the sun don't shine or has Jenkins picked because he can do this.
This is typical of jinx and his interference with the team. it pisses me off... Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin has admitted he will not have the final say on transfers this summer. However, Guidolin, appointed permanent head coach at the Liberty Stadium on a two-year contract, has praised his relationship with chairman Huw Jenkins. Guidolin wants to build a "good team" even though he will not be in control of transfers. "I have spoken with the chairman, but in my career I have always left the decision for players with the club." Guidolin said getting a new deal meant he'd "won his first challenge" at the club, but is now focused on what his squad will look like next season. It is understood the club won't sign anyone without Guidolin's knowledge, but ultimately the final decision will be made by chairman Huw Jenkins who admitted to having held talks with former boss Brendan Rodgers about a return to the Liberty Stadium. "I spoke with him about my favoured shape and characteristics of new players," Guidolin said. "I can only say the characteristics of players that I want in new players, then the decision will be made by the club.
He tells the club what type of player he wants the scouts go and find those within the price range, Guido checks them out and Jenkins pays the money and drafts the contract. Sounds good to me so long as they communicate well i dont see a problem. No one party signs anyone autonomously everyones happy.
We have heard the bull "I get on with the chairman well and he wont sign anyone without my knowledge " He will mate you can bank on it and its always the cheaper option to the player you want. You have to learn that you will have to work with the players that Jinx decides we should have and not necessarily the players you want.....
Could also argue that Palo wasn't worth £8 million too. If Huw hasn't learnt his mistakes and signs the likes of Eder, Gonis, Tabanou etc this summer we're stuffed. We need quality this summer and imo the manager should always have the final say on transfers.
7 starts For Paloschi at the end of a season with 2 goals , hardly valley And my theory is a manager hasn't brought in a player since Bony , until Paloschi .
2 goals in 15 games is exactly that. That said, he'd be a great back up to Bony if we managed to sign him imo.
A Fcuking manager is brought to the club to oversee the playing side of the club and run it to the best of their ability and that means bringing in players he thinks would benefit the team. Jinx needs to but out and let Guildo choose the players he needs and the board should back him all the way. Yes there will be a limit on what money Guildo will get but that dont give jinx the power to select players.......Fcuk right off jinx and lets start the new era running the club properly...
All our luck with money and transfers in and transfers out was from managers good deals . That all stopped after the Bony deal and it's about to continue . Udinese made 119 million £ 's through transfers over a four year period when Guidolin was in charge . And Guidolin has to run his ideas past a guy who brought in Eder and Tabanou.......sorry .
Roof I am still not convinced of his goal scoring ability Gomis a goal every 281 minutes Paloschi a goal every 335 mins Ayew a goal every 259 mins Siggy a goal every 265 mins All for Swansea this season, I know he has played less but I haven't seen to much that will say he will score lots of goals and as a back up yes, not our main striker.
It's Guildo's neck on the line and he will get the sack if jinx selections are flops......jinx will still be here doing the same thing with the next manager......IT dont Fcuking work...
I count only starts , and that ain't bad . Anybody who knows anything about the Swans this season knows service to strikers has been atrocious. Except for great service the past two games finally , something to build on but Paloschi didn't start either . If you want to make decisions on a player after 7 starts , much like a manager with 16 starts , fill you're boots . I'll wait a half of next season to give my opinion on both .
Not bad for a guy who just got here with no service . Also , you'll notice Siggy's goals almost all came after Guido and Paloschi got here . An intangible toward both .
So Paloschi did well on no service, but all the others got service for their goals, give me a break. So you are saying then that Paloschi managed to set up all Siggy goals as well, yet you are saying he hasn't been playing most of the time, I think Siggy improvement came with getting rid of Shelvey. Paloschi is an average PL striker and will have his part to play next year, most of it as a sub.
It sounds to me as if Guidolin wants this, and it may have even come from him because it looks like that's the way he's worked before. Whether you like Jenkins or not this may not have come from him. Just a thought....
None of this matters now....we are entering a new era and what has past has past and we are still a mid table premiership side.....It is now Upton Guildo's shoulders or so i thought until jinx put a spanner in the works that he is to continue poking his nose into what Guildo can and cannot do and what players we can sign and who we cant....Has he not learned anything working like that.....I propose that should the players he decides on are flops then it is his head on the chopping block and not just the managers.....
