Appologies if this has already been posted but I havent seen it yet on here. http://gu.com/p/36d83/tw. A very moving article about his sons short life. What should be the happiest days of a persons life were unimaginably hard for him. Somehow he manages to keep perspective and keep working hard I honestly dont know whether I would be able to do the same in that posistion. I think we should also bear this in mind with the way he is being used at the moment. As football fans its easy to class a player as injured or fit but life is more complicated and some pains take longer to heal. I personally think hes a role model and inspiration to all and I would love him to hit a few goals because he deserves it as much as anyone ever will!
It's amazing how people like Billy and his girlfriend carry on after things like this happen - I don't know if I would be that strong. As we've seen in the last few days with Fabrice, the love that comes from family and friends - and complete strangers - must be a comfort in times of adversity. Billy's already highly thought of at Saints, hope to see him play today!
Such a tragic story, its admiral how he dealt with the situation and is a true professional and individual. Thanks for link also.
Most moving bit is right at the end where Sharp is quoted saying: "Everything I do I do for him." Finished off an emotional piece really well and I think it was good for them to break their silence in a way to give more of an idea of what things were like. We all knew it must have been hard but this article shows just how strong a character both Billy and his partner are.
That couple deserve everything good that comes to them over the rest of their lives. Billy is an extraodinary man and I don't know if I could have coped with that.
Wow... real gut wrenching read. i have to young kids and have no idea how i would cope if put in this situation. reading that article opens up to see what they were going through. i now have even more reapect for not only billy but also is partner they both are an inspiration to people.
That really is a choker, I can't imagine how difficult it must be for him. My first was born a week or so before and I remember sat watching this tragic story coming through with my little one. It makes me count my blessings every day. It really shows huge strength of character what Billy and his partner have done and continue to do.
