Green really isn't that bad overall. Nothing spectacular but nothing awful. Cesar is a complete liability who will pull off the occasional wonder save.
Cesar on his way to Gunners according to this... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-transfers-julio-cesars-most-1895727 It'll be nice if we can get a couple of million as well...
With our defences performances this year we'd probably make Gordon Banks, Peter Schmeicel and Phil Parkes look average. I'm not sayimg Green and Caesar are blameless but the back 4 have not been much help.
We could get a better goalie for half the wages, wed be stupid not to try. Ive never seen a keeper be at fault for so many goals, not even Camp was this bad.
What makes me cross is that he got away scott free and Bosingwa got hammered against Newcastle ... what was he thinking to roll it out there? ... That's the reason he's dropped
Even so, it drives me mad that defenders put the responsibility on the goalie in that situation, Bosingwa still had enough time to turn and hit it down the line. Maybe he wants to keep his pass rate up but Id fine anyone who makes a back pass when they could have easily hoofed it downfield themselves.
I think Green needed the backing from Hughes in August not another keeper coming in and this has had a major effect on him but he is still no George Benkole
Did he ... I am not so sure:
Either way mate, crap communication between players who have had months to learn to talk. As alleged professionals both should hang their heads in shame. Harold is well known for not pushing his players hard in training, Van der Vaart said they barely did anything. In these situations you are then reliant on a group of players putting in the effort to better themselves and the team off their own backs. Not happened for us. Since Nelsen, our true player of the season, left we have had no leader. I think we looked a better team under Hughes.
Yes, he had 3 touches which is more than enough time. Agrees about Harry, hes ok to get a good team ticking along but we need someone whos going to whip them into shape. Poyet might be available after the **** smearing, happy clappers episode against Palace.
We should sign Tom Heaton from relegated Bristol City - I believe he could likely do really well for us as either a #1 or #2 keeper. He performed really well when on loan with us a couple of seasons back, in particular I remember some quality saves he made when we lost 1-0 to Chelsea in an FA cup tie at Stamford Bridge.
Would be ok as a backup but not #1. What has he done since he left us to be our #1 goalie. Lost his places at Cardiff and then went to a side who got relegated. Not exactly inspiring.
Green v Kenny?? Not even a contest as to who the better keeper is. Could have told you that when Sparkless got rid of Paddy for Calamity Green. Yes Green makes the odd good save but Kenny made many more and was much more consistent. If I was HR he would be one of the many players that I would be saying has no future at this club but I guess were stuck with him.
The fault was entirely bosingwanker's Green did well to get as near as he did and was just unlucky the ball span off to an unmarked player.
Just like to say...from the surface....this appears to be terrible man-management from Harry. To Cesar..."don't want you lad after your lack of interest and desire to wear a Chelscum shirt" To Green...You wear the shirt for rest of season To Green....Don't want you lad, after you part in the short back pass scenario To Cesar....Can you play one more game pretty please Unless Green is injured, or Harry believes we will get such a toasting this afternoon that no goalie will come through it unscathed. Or harry is getting rid of both and just doesn't care Or Harry just doesn't care!
He was slow reacting to the underhit backpass, its 90% Boswankers fault but Greeen could have prevented it by reacting quicker or not giving him the ball at all.
