Probably one of the biggest sporting moments in sport came in 1954. Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile for the first time.

    Are you sure?

Rangers beat Leeds once - Cantona was playing and everything.

I'm pretty sure he didn't play, but might have sorted the oranges.

It has to be when Iron mike bit off Holyfields ear, I had $500 on him doing that in William hill. The dude behind the glass had to call head office and even they would not accept my wager.... Lucky my eccentric Chink bookey got me a good price with the Malay mafia.....

He was still there, he scored Leeds goal down there, biggus, is speaking absolute pish! They hadn't been beaten at home for something like 27 months and we pumped them, Leeds were certainly not one ofthe worst teams to represent England in the CL.

I'm not trying to belittle Rangers' achievement, but Leeds weren't 'all that'. They finished 17th out of 22 that season without winning a single away game. After Blackburn in '95/'96, they're England's worst CL representatives. The Leeds team that got to the semis in 2001 was better, the one with Kewell, Smith, Bowyer, Keane etc.

Aye, fucking 9 months after we pumped them.

When we played them, they were near the top of the league, now fuck off you fat baldy arsehole. <ok>

Yeah, I knew he was Scottish, with a name like Douglas Jardine, could he have been anything else?

Alec Stewart and Angus Fraser are English, those are good scotch names.

Very true, but for some reason, I had heard that Jardine was Scottish before. You would think Stewart and Fraser will have some Scottish blood in them, especially Fraser?

It was well known that Jardine was Scottish - I think cricket fans aways made a point of saying it to deflect any criticism of English cricket when people talk about bodyline

Angus Fraser's grandfather was Scottish - he went to the school next door to my one and was very handy with his fists.
