..today, very very pleased with 3 pts . Im sure some of the strange comments we had regarding our manager and players will now melt away after the performance today. I thought Canas run the show and Pablo was superb in his creativity. I was hoping for a 1pt today but to get the win in that manner was fantastic IMO.

How good or bad were WBA ?
Well, im sure they wanted to win just as much as us and we got a slice of luck when Pablo failed to track his man on the corner, which really does ake me ask why the **** are we giving such defensive responsibility to a guy that isn't very good at it !!

Anelka was very good and a handful for Ash and Chico, I thought his days as a top player were numbered but to me he hasn't lost much of his pace and still has all the skills . We should have scored more than 2 goals though and we will get punished by other teams if we don't score when we are on top .

Overall im really chuffed to see that we played well had great passing and scored some good goals, everyone put in a shift and a win away anywhere in the premier league is hard to do .

We go into the break with a bit of time to train and refresh before the next round of games, it looks like we are starting to move through the gears once again but Liverpool and Arsenal are looking a lot better than Spurs and Man utd so we must pray for zero injurys and a bit of luck to get something from those games.

Thoughts on our fantastic win today, and do you think the over the top comments made about the team/manager in recent days have been in completely bad taste and vindicated by this professional performance ?

Well done players and Laudrup, 3 pts in the bag and our season is up and running <ok>

Great game and a well deserved victory, we well and truly out played them, I don't think Vorm had a save to make. Most WBA fans were saying when leaving the stadium that they got of lucky as the score could and should have been at least 4-0. Some good performances all over the park, Canas ran his nuts off. Shelvey did try some Hollywood balls, but second half played nice an simple. Looking from the stands, it looks like Canas is the midfielder to break up the play and Shelvey is the creative player, and it did work well.

    My scores for the players.

Vorm 7 - He was a spectator most of the game.
Rangel 6 - Marshalled Sinclair well, but didn't get out wide enough and slow in the build up.
Chico 7 - He worked well with Ash and they covered each others back.
    Ash 7 - As Chico.
Davies 7 - Got forward and a stunning goal.
Hernandez 8 - Very busy, starting to show his potential. Couple of wasteful balls but I'll forgive him.
Canas 8 - The lads plays the game nice simple, will be a good foil for Shelvey.
Shelvey 7 - Yes he tried his Hollywood balls, but second half he did play some quality balls.
Routledge 6 - Arghhh wanted to walk the ball into the net when clean through.
Michu 7 - All round sound display just needs control his passion at times.
Bony 7 - Still getting to grips with the system, some nice touches and layoffs he will be a great asset.

De Guzman 6 - First ball he had he bloody lost it. Did improve as the game went on.
Poz 6 - Didn't have enough time to shine.

Absolutely think some recent comments were over the top. We looked to be in complete control for most of the game - did get a little sloppy toward the end of the game but think this was due to the pressure of getting points on the board. All in all a very professional performance and we can now go into the break in a much better mood - would have been a very long two weeks if we had come away with nothing.

Think it will be a very open league this season - no teams on nil points after three games is a first (I think).

Will be watching the transfer window very closely until it closes tomorrow at 11pm; hope no one leaves and seems the mighty Laudrup is confident of a striker signing.

How good were our fans today ? Definitely a 12th man when the team needed it most

Yes, an excellent performance and as most of us have said it's great to see Hernandez starting to come good. But Laudrup is spot on when he says we should have scored the second earlier and we were running the risk of conceding a sloppy goal which would have been undeserved. I could really see us shooting ourselves in the foot yet again in the time-honoured Swansea style. We weren't breaking fast enough imo and allowed the Baggies defenders to get back. When we did break faster we scored.

Fortunately, WBA were awful - other teams won't be as forgiving. This isn't a negative spin. We punished a poor side today and I just hope we can play as well against better opposition.

Agree Dilli - Hymns and Arias from the start and 'We'll sing on our own' after only 5 minutes; an excellent performance from the team and a perfect performance for the 12th man!

Agree, I was worried myself. I couldn't see West Brom score, but it only takes a shot to get deflected and were all square. Routledge dithering with his shot, Hernandez hitting the bar when it would have be easier to plonk it in the onion bag.

Our fans were indeed great from 1st to 90th minute in fact ! we will need a lot more of this as well, lets make the Liberty a rocking place once again eh ?

Pablo is looking the main man again in the attacking 3rd , Rangel is still struggling for form though and that is a worry, he needs to use all the little dirty tricks to keep parity with his opposite player and im sure he has lost a yard of pace from last season .

WBA are not a bad side I think they will be ok thi season if they can bring in another striker, I tell you what though I would have loved to see anelka in a swans shirt ! he had our defence tied in knots at times and out paced chico a few times even out muscling him too, he could do the business for them , very early days for everyone but its a massive 3 pts I have to say <ok>

Agree about Rangel, don't know what is going on with him - hopefully having Dwight T back in the fold will sharpen him up a bit - nothing like competition fro places to focus the mind! <cheers>

One thing that did surprise me was the amount of yellow cards. 7 in total, and the game wasn't dirty at all.

Strange how ive not been that bothered bythe refs in the premier league but so far this season ive seen shocking games from our one at spurs, the ref at the everton v Cardiff game and to a lesser extent mike dean giving out 7 yellow cards to a game that didn't even have one bad tackle in it !

What I will say is that mike dean did card them for shirt pulling something that every team in the world seems to get away with when they play us, because of this we were able to play our game with a correct amount of protection and not get bullied like we were at spurs , for that I give mike dean credit .

I was worried about him officiating today, he never gives us bugger all. But in fairness got most things sport on, all the cards I think were for niggly and stupid things like kicking the ball away, we need to stop that as we've had two players booked for this in successive games.

The foul on Bony when he skinned the defender deserved a yellow but that was about it

Yep, that was the one card that was deserved.

Agree Norway - wasn't looking forward to Dean reffing today and was quite vocal about him before the game - but think he got most decisions correct so am quite happy to eat humble pie!

One thing that does concern me a little is the silly yellow cards we seem to be picking up - Michu fouled today, but deserved a stupid yellow for retaliation - Britton on Thursday was disappointing - he really should no better than to kick the ball away seeing he was already on a yellow!
