Danny Fox. Who will take our right sided corners when you're gone?

I'd go with Lallana. Gaston's quite tall and would be good to have in the box.

I assumed he was talking about Fox's possible injury. Technically he could go on loan to the Championship, but that's not actually going to happen.

Ramirez is a far better dead ball taker than Lallana. In fact, he is the best dead ball taker in the team by a mile. Ramirez should take all right sided dead ball situations.

Agreed, and just because he's 6 foot doesn't make him a danger in the air.

Is that based on seeing him week in week out, or YouTube clips or his football manager stats? I haven't got too as many games as I'd like over the last few years for family reasons, etc but when I do it reminds me not to draw conclusions from highlights and one camera. Genuinely interested to know how you came to that conclusion that's all.

Ah, but who should take free kicks..? That's going to be a juicy one one when the first foul occurs about 30 yards out of the opposition penalty area, and up steps Rickie..! Will Gaston be given the ball..? I shall feel slightly sad when it happens, although Rickie isn't as good as MLT was, so it won't be such a shock if Ramirez takes over such duties.

Rickie hasn't been all that great from free-kicks in the last 2 years or so

Not if you're only judging on goals, but teams are still falling for the run up and dink to the back post trick, so he'll keep doing it.

He's been bloody good at getting his head on them in the six yard box though and that's where I'd like him to stand for this season as well.

Under Pardew we needed Lambert to take the free kick, run round the wall and nod them in himself.
Scotland seriously missed Fox from a set piece perspective yesterday, I saw the highlights last night to try and help me get to sleep and they had 10-15 corners and a few wide free kicks which Charlie Adam just floated in the box for the keeper to catch.

    Scored a couple last season.

Plus if you remember 95% of the time he forced the keeper into a save!

I completely agree, what I meant was he hasn't been all that great when taking the free-kicks - I prefer him on the end of it and with Ramirez, this might be good

He hasn't scored for a while but has still taken some superb kicks and come close. I agree though lambert is such a threat getting his head on the ball it would be sensible to free him up in the box. Think his L1 and Champ experience also means he can give some flimsy prem CB's a hard time.
