As we have Huddersfield on Saturday, the victims of the greatest ever football comeback. And seeing as we just recently had a decent comeback against Cardiff - not quite on the same scale I Know. So I'm writing a piece on great CAFC comebacks for the weekend. And would welcome any suggestions. I'm only 20 so would welcome any older contributors! Thanks George
Parky's full season in League 1 so that's what 3 years ago? 2-1 down against Swindon down to 9 men from about the 30 minute mark, Akpo Sodje worked his socks off to the extent that he basically walked off at snail pace and from then on I have always had respect for him. Then in the last minute Llerha scored a chip that Cantona would have been proud of and we walked away 2-2 Not a win but I just remember feeling amazed by it
I always remember being 2-0 down to the massive in our first season back in the Championship, before big Chris bagged a brace and won us the game 3-2. Nothing spectacular, but it just stands out in my head.
The score line doesn't suggest it but anyone who watched the first half an hour of the 4-2 at highbury and turned it off wouldn't of believed the score! Arsenal could of been 5 up!
3 0 down at home to Barnsley at halftime the season before we moved to selhurst and coming back to draw
My first game - Boxing Day 1966 - 3-0 down to Norwich City with 20 minutes to go and drew 3-3. Watford away when they were running away with the division with Barnes, Blissett, Jenkins & Co. running rampant - 2-0 down at half-time and buoyed up by the noisiest Charlton crowd I've ever heard, pulled back to 2-2.
No idea why but the 5-2 loss to Sheffield united when Pardew lost his job felt like a comeback at times (despite the eventual battering) because I felt as if we were in it till the end despite the hammering.
Also when we lost nicky weaver in the 1st minute away at Plymouth, then went one nil down and leroy lita scored 2 to win the match (I think) . I'm now at university in Plymouth and live metres away from home park so love this stat even more.
