It's called lethargy. in terns of their energy and enthusiasm. When people get to a low point; loss of confidence and on top of that demoralised by criticism. It's a natural reaction what we are seeing; having said that some people are fighters and come through it. I would of said Catts being one of those types a few years back, but he seems to have lost the will. After all they are human and not machines. This is where Coleman has to earn his money, work out what makes each player tick, what sort of character they are and tackle them individually to bring back their confidence. it's the old, some players need an arm around the shoulder, others need a kick up the back side. Agree with what you said about our supporters, up there with the best in the land but we do have a habit of berating the team too easily. That's just my humble opinion on the matter
My fault mate I am not getting my opinion across very well. 1 I have never barracked a player of any sort from going to matches since I was a bairn 2 I find it hard to believe that the other three on here cannot tell the difference between a player who is just a lazy twat collecting his wage packet and a lad like Mathews who is just learning his trade. 3 And yes I did mean your above comment
Thinks Catts still is one of those types - he just can't cover the ground as well as he used to due to many injuries/beers?
Whenever I read that on here it makes me pause. Maybe our culture places more emphasis on the individual.
Rooch we're going around in circles here as you seem completely unable to grasp what we're saying - a player looking like he is being a lazy twat may be a lazy twat - or he may just be lacking a massive amount of confidence and think "Why the hell should I try when they're getting on my back anyway" - our point is that you seem to apparently know which ones are being lazy twats and can decide by watching them from 100 yards away without any knowledge of the psychology behind their actions. Kone is the only one this season where I've thought that - but I also reserve the judgement as, as mentioned above, he was a circa £20m player in high demand less than 2 seasons ago and now he's struggling at the bottom of the championship with no clubs looking to sign him or wanting him - how can that not impact a player mentally?
And isn’t Matthews a brilliant example? He’s never done anything for us but since the Boro game he’s looked better and he’s looked a real step up on Jones. That’s lead to encouragement from crowd, then Coleman has come in and he suddenly looks a very tidy, capable player. Imagine another 3 or 4 having that lift, suddenly we are motoring. Matthews isn’t ‘learning his trade’ over 100 games in the pressure of playing for a club like Celtic and 15 or so Wales caps. He had a bad start with injury and was written off as ****e when he came back not ready.
I agree, but it won’t happen until the summer. As most of us have said, this Summer will be massive (assuming we remain in the Championship). Get rid of surplus dead wood, sell the likes of Borini, Khazri, Lens etc etc. And let Coleman sign some decent players
Based on that then fine, I have no tolerance for lazy bar stewards.. Whether they earn a fortune or not... I think we have met somewhere in the middle KTF
