Ward just confirmed that Gow has gone to a local hospital in Scunthorpe. It is not known yet if he has broken his leg or not. Too early to tell until scans are done. Should find out from the club tomorrow.

Ward also confirmed that Lockyer was taken off at half time for a suspected broken nose.

    latest news from rovers....

Striker Alan Gow will need to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the damage to his ankle sustained during last night's game.

Gow was stretchered off just before half time and taken to hospital, where they confirmed that the ankle was not fractured.

It is suspected that ligaments have been damaged, but it is not yet known how long Gow will be out of action.

The scan is expected to take place during the next 48 hours.

    Ligament damage confirmed

Alan Gow underwent a scan yesterday which confirmed that he has suffered ligament damage to his ankle.

The injury was picked up during the first half of Bristol Rovers' 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe on Tuesday night.

The striker was taken to hospital amid initial fears the ankle could be fractured, but X-Rays revealed that was not the case.

Gow is now expected to be out for around six weeks.

Manager John Ward said: "This is the best we could have hoped for really as there is no bone damage or anything else.

"It is still a blow for us as he was fitting in to the team really well, and the fans and his team mates saw what a good player he was.

"But we have to move on, we have some good players in that position, and a much stronger squad now, so we will just have to try to continue to pick up points until he is back."

6 weeks means should be back in time for 12th april home game vs torquay. so he will have just 5 games left until end of the season - torquay, pompey, rochdale, wycombe and mansfield.

he will miss in these 6 weeks 9 games.... northampton, plymouth, dag & red, hartlepool, southend, fleetwood, morecambe, bury & wimbledon.
