Thats whats being said on a certain board that shall remain nameless.
This is most probably accurate to be fair from what I've heard.
We shall await the official announcement.

Given we sold chops for £1.5M he needs to be some goal scorer. I assume he will be cheaper in the wage bill, but it's still a large chunk of the transfer budget.

he's a 1 in 4 striker so far in his career. seems expensive considering £2m was only the asking price, i doubt we've paid anything near that unless most of the fee is made up of clauses.

I think we are spending the money on a unit, apparently Goodwillie and Conway work well together......time will tell.

my concern is that apparently Blackpool are the other team for him and they have parachute money, most of promotion money (they spent naff all) and shortly they'll have the cash for Charlie Adam.

Willo Flood and Conway could be influential in his final decision should we meet Dundee's valuation.

Not sure that Blackpool will be first choice for a lot of players. They seem to have a very rigid wage structure that isn't that high so may not be that big an attraction. Blackpool were a bit of a flash in the pan to go up. Are they geared up for another crack. Forrest, Cardiff and Reading have been there or there abouts for a couple of seasons and may be more attractive.

And then of course there's the carrot munchers........................ <doh>

Lots of things here that bother me?
How do we know it is the bigger part of he budget when no-one knows what the budget is?
The budget figures were all bandied about before Chops was sold so surely 2 Mill is only 500 K out of the original budget (if it ever was a set figure?)
The blackpool Chairman always said that the Prem was the money he needed to rebuild the missing stand so it is probably taken up on other things besides buying more players. They are probably trying to unload some they already got.
The last thing is are they going to pay 2 mill, and if they do will it all be up front?
No one knows, lets just get him if he is worth the candle.

xsnaggle, whatever our budget is, £2M will be a big chunk of it! We've not spent more than a couple of million in a season for 6 years. The vibes are that is unlikley to change this season. I hope I'm proved hugely wrong.

ccfc remote. I understand that but earlier in the month people were talking about all kinds of stupid figures like 20 million.
The only point I was making is that no one has the slightest idea what the budget is, and I don't even believe a budget has been set in stone, it depends how the season develops and where we might be in Jan. So how can someone say "it's a big chunk out of the budget." It's like these things that if they are said often enough people assume them as fact. It's all bollox.

Also possibly a bit unfair to comment on his 1 in 4 strike rate. The guy's still young and you wouldn't expect him to be banging them in from the moment of turning pro. Surely he's only going to improve?
