I was talking to someone yesterday who is a keen LFC fan. He recently lost his house in a fire, so badly damaged it was demolished. He lost all the contents as well including a signed Stevie G shirt he won in a national newspaper competition some years ago.

His workmates knew how much he loved this shirt (he lives/works away from Liverpool so gets a fair amount of stick from them) so they contacted the club and explained what had happened, and asked if they bought a shirt would SG sign it.

Next thing a framed shirt arrives at the workplace, signed " To ******, all the best, Steven Gerrard"

in addition their was a personal letter from SG saying how sorry he was to hear of the fire and hoped everyone was OK, and hoped the shirt would cheer him up.

    He was well chuffed.

I give him a lot of stick but he is a legend, a gent and one of the best players to ever put on the shirt. <ok>

  3. I lost my house to a fire last week... I had a five bedroom mansion with a swimming pool room, cinema and gym plus a massive garage with a couple of Ferrari's in. Steven Gerrard had signed the cars and every brick in the house too. What's the chances eh...? :bandit:

You'd think the stingy bastard would've at least bought him a new house <whistle>

Just kidding, even more evidence that we have a great captain.
