Really wish he'd have stayed. What do you think the following means..........

"When we did eventually meet, after the final game of our campaign, it was clear that we did not share the same vision for the future of the club."

Why and what do you think the different visions were when he was talking to Broughton?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I found the following part sad as I wanted him to stay,

‘It was at that point that it became evident what was about to happen. It was obvious that they had decided that my time at Anfield was up and wanted to come to an arrangement as quickly as possible.

‘I was not in a hurry to leave Liverpool - quite the opposite, I wanted to stay.
‘It was while I was on holiday in Italy that I next heard from the club.

‘Their lawyers had contacted mine to offer me a settlement.

‘It was confirmation that the directors of the team I had worked so hard to turn into a force at home and abroad no longer wanted my services.

‘I was disappointed, hurt and sad. I would not be given the chance to try to solve the problems that had arisen during the season, to complete the six years of work I had put into the club."

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He also stated his suprise FSG never approached him and I wish he was in our dugout now but I do understand FSG wanting a young manger and Rodgers does have my support

Quite a few fans of other clubs have said they've revised their opinion of him since the truth about H&G came out, not just as a manager but as a man.

I'm glad he's got the book out because there are still muppets out there spouting the same old crap about his time here.

Top manager, top bloke, who loved this club and wanted to stay even as we sank towards administration. Sometimes I feel like Rodgers is just mouthing the words he knows fans want to hear, because he's only been here a few weeks. Love don't work that way.

Did you read the part about Rafa's ''lucky underpants''?

Brendan has my full backing, but cant help but wish that Rafa was at the helm.....Rafa was the yes man to the fans....Did everything he could for us whether it compromised his job or his image.

For me is always the number one choice should the current regime not work out.

He always made a decision for the good of the team. Some of those decisions weren't popular (even amongst us fans) but he knew what he was doing and carried on despite the negativity from so called pundits (i.e. zonal marking, squad rotation).

****ing loved Rafa, he also had that name that players wanted to not only come to the club, but to play for him! Probably would still have Mascher if he would have been given another year and Banega.

The only that springs to mind was when we lost 6-3 at home to Arsenal in the Carling Cup lol. But I agree - we were so solid, disciplined and hard to break down. I definately see him returning to the club at some point in the future.

Bluff - exactly. Still a huge name in European football and players will want to play for him. Torres, Mash, Agger, Reina etc and even Alonso praised Rafa. If you had the ability and most importantly the right attitude, Rafa would give you all the time in the world. He didn't want players who needed a kiss and a cuddle when they are feeling down. He wanted players who wanted to prove a point.

The spine of our great teams back then came because of Liverpool of course, but a lot of it was to play for Rafa. Garcia, Alonso, Reina, Torres, Mascher, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Arbeloa, Kuyt, Crouch ( Some goals he had btw!). When he had the cash and was not forced into the buys, he got it right a lot of the time.

Ah well, it is BR's time, let's see what he can do, see how his buys turn out and our style of play. If not, then I think the man with unfinished business needs that shot again.

Well he is a practitioner of NLP.....

Loving BR so far though. Given time he can succeed, but we must, and the players and owners must, give him that time.

CL by 2015 is a fair target in my opinion.

I fondly remember the days when we were FEARED and ranked No 1 in Europe, God that seems like such a long time ago

RAFA - Legend. I wanted him back as I say, will support Rodgers though obviously

  15. I wanted Rafa back before we appointed Kenny in temporary charge. Just think what he could have done with the £80m we spent on Carroll, Downing, Adam and Henderson...

I was 100% for Rafa in the summer too <ok>

Edit: I am 100% behind Brendan Rodgers though, he is our manager now and I think, given time, he will bring excellent, exciting and successful football to our beloved club <ok>
