A very good morning from Southampton

Blimey, I really hope we start playing a lot better then we did last night, otherwise I fear for the team...

Firstly, lets talk about the Pen. As I understand it Hunt broke free down the middle, and was bought down by Allsop, who had to go...

I hear there was a lot of timewasting and Flahaven did his utmost to put McCormack off, and it worked. My cat would have taken a better pen, and she's been dead five years....

First debate, if a keeper gets sent off, its for a reason, should the other side be given the time to make a substitution, and waste 5 mins plus???

So, for an hour we were playing against 10 men, I know what you're about to say, we should have scored a hatful, BUT, when a man gets sent off, sometimes it can be more difficult!!!

After the game, reading online reports Bournemouth feel very hard done by. If you however look at the stats, I think we had about 20 shots, though only eight on target....

Should Poleon get a proper run out in the team? If it looks like we are not going to get promoted this season, why not let him learn his trade as he goes on, OR if not, let him go out on loan???

Sheffield United want to extend Ryan Halls contract!!! Well the hell don't we give the lad a chance???

Bournemouth are by far the worst side I've seen at elland road for years, Chesterfield were better! Warnock mowatt and tonge played well rest poor

McCormack was shocking and didn't earn the right to take that penalty,

See millwall had a huge following

Morning all. A win's a win. So 'kin' cheer up one and all.

Blades wanting to extend Hall's loan is good news. Suggests he might be showing something of why Colin brought him in the first place. If he does, let's have him back. We need a genuine winger.

Feel a bit sorry for Hunt. Commentators were saying he just needs a goal. But after last night and Varney, Poleon, & Smith all pushing to start, he's unlikely to start ahead of Varney or Poleon.

Given Derby's amazing comeback, Saturday should be an interesting game. But I really would like to see Diouf start somewhere in midfield. Maybe at the head of the diamond or in the centre of a flat 3 with Austin sitting in front of the back 4 (& being Austin, then running box to box). We need a bit more creativity, and I personally think Diouf is just the man to provide it.

Good to see Ross starting up top. He got one goal last night, and more will surely come if he plays up top rather than at the head of the diamond.

Morning all. Agreed Ross should start where he did last night. Hunt an atrocious signing and waste of wages as was Smith. How long a contract did we give Hunt? I've a feeling it was a couple of years which aint good. A badly needed three points which didnt exactly keep me awake last night with excitement but no doubt gives McD a little breathing space while he comes up with a cunning plan. Roll on the weekend and I'm sure more of the same against one of our bogey teams I think

Morning all,

The players just didn't look up for it last night. Like Glory said last night, it was an awful lot of dithering and the lack confidence, against a weaker side down to 10 men. The negativity shown on the field meant it was absolutely no surprise to me that Ross missed his penalty. You could just see it coming, maybe the agitated atmosphere in the stands played a factor in his frame of mind too.

I actually sat in the Bremner Suite for the first time last night and its nice actually. I'd sit there again. Norman Hunter came passed at half time, and the guys behind told him to get his kit on. And he said 'I might as we weren't going to score tonight'. And i think that sums it up for me, it was very hard to watch.

I also thought that we should have had another penalty in the first half, our lad (Warnock?) pushed over near the byline. It was no shoulder barge, as he used two hands on the Leeds player's arm. The ref probably didn't give it because he had already given one (and knew we would probably miss so it wont matter anyway! ha).

I liked Green's contribution. To me, he seemed assured and did his job solidily. He can put a foot in and merited the place at the base of the diamond last night. Interesting to see Austin playing on the right side of the diamond and he even had a couple of runs up the wing. Maybe we can utilise him there more often!

As for Hunt, he has had enough chances now. By far the worst player on the pitch last night. To be honest, Poleon was good when he came on. Just what we required, someone with pace that can stretch the defence. His goal was one of the many times when we had the ball in their box pinging around after noone could apply a finish. We were lucky that it fell straight to him standing on the penatly spot unmarked, but with the amount of bodies on the line I could see it being blocked.

Bournemouth might well feel hard done by. It would have been very interesting if they hadn't had a player sent off. They look more up for it then we did.

I still feel that McDermott is the right man for the job, and a few new additions could be what makes us into a top half challenger. I don't have much hope for this season, promotion wise, however. I hope the result (that we nearly threw away) doesn't paper over the cracks anymore and we get some loanees. or else before long we will be midway through the season and lucky to be in the top half.

Morning MTMB. Not sure I agree that top 12 would represent success. Top 6 and then losing in the play offs would, to my mind, represent progress if not actual success. BMD is still working his way through changing the culture of hoofball to proper footy. This is taking time. He's made us harder to beat. What we need is more natural width and to reduce the size of the squad to make room for some genuine quality. For example, where and when would you play Pugh and Norris? Will Hall finally prove his worth (given that he must be showing something at the Blades)? As Green has stepped ahead of Brown in the stakes for the alternative DM role, will we move Brown on at the end of the season? Why can't Ashdown at least get a place on the bench?

What I am look for is obviously auto this season, as it is every season. But I accept that last season was so bad, its going to take a full season to get rid of those who no longer figure. It will then take time for BMD to get the players in who he wants. So long as we can see genune progress that would be represented by a top 6 finish, or even 7th as a result of another side grabbing 6th on the final day, I will be content.

Poleons goal was a well taken volley just inside a crowded area. That being said, he was in acres of space!

Am I the only one who thought Rosco would miss that penno? I've never been confident when he steps up to the spot.

Does anyone else think that the constant shifts in managers (were far from the worst for hiring and firing to be fair) doesnt do us any favours? Mowatt has come through and if he keeps this form up the Murphy money could have been much better spent, say on a centre forward and the same goes for last season, we sign Peltier and along comes Byram. One things for sure if we stick with Mcdermott he will have knowledge of the youth coming through that could be good enough, something Warnock seemed to distance himself from.

Totally agree with your point about the managers Bucks, which is why I hope the board will stick with Brian through what is definitely a transitional season for us. Hopefully the players got a lift from yesterday's result, and the fact we scored twice for the first time in a while, but I think Derby will be a tricky game on Saturday. By all accounts Hunt did have an absolute shocker though, so I guess we'll be back to Varney starting.

Boggers, I've always seen the playoffs as needing a particularly good run from us with a couple of slip ups elsewhere this season. I think it'd be a fantastic result for the season if we scrape into them come the end. Top 10 would please me this year, as long as we manage to replace some of the end of contracts in summer with a bit more quality going forwards.

All good solid stuff LiD. We'll agree to disagree on what success for this season will look like, as we're only argung semantics. Wich ever way you look at it, we're playing some decent footy. BMD is slowly producing a decent squad. The kids are coming through (where is Chris Dawon by the way?) Even if we don't go up this season, we're well on track for a shot at auto next season. The Board just have to stick with BMD whilst he creates a squad in his image.

In BMD I trust MOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leeds United chairman Salah Nooruddin claims the Championship club is close to attracting the investment required to take it "to the next level".
The Bahrain-based businessman also said huge progress had been made towards achieving financial stability.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "We are very particular as to the quality and type of investor we want to bring in. “We are looking for an investor who really adds value and can help us take the club to the next level. I think something might be on the horizon”

Leeds United chairman Salah Nooruddin

"But we have reached a situation where I would say we are close to engaging with one."
