Morning one and All, It is understood that Morison is heading back to the Den, but at what cost. You'll remember that Morison joined us in January in the transfer window that saw Becchio leave for Carrow Road. Realistically Becchio must have been worth 2m, on his goal scoring ability alone, but has only been able to secure a couple of appearances in the Prem, and failed to register a single goal in the Prem. If Lomas paid us £250k, but it meant we could buy back Becchio with that, would you do that??? Maybe the money would be used to buy Posh forward Tommy Rowe who was linked to us a few weeks back! Morning Elland and all. Lets face it, the morisson Becchio swop deal was one of our worst efforts in the transfer market, and that takes some doing with our record. When we basically give him away for free, its all he's worth at most but we'll effectively have thrown away 2m. I wonder what clever accounting will be required by gfh to disguise that from their precious shareholders and investors. I would have no problem with Becchio returning if thats what McD really wanted. Unlike some, Im not totally agains former players returning providing they're still as good as when they left. Looks like it'll be a small squad returning for pre season having released a load of our rubbish
Morning Elland. Is that Morrison story been confirmed? I am still undecided on him tbh. Clearly has ability at this level, but his attitude seems to be a miss. Becchio will always divide opinion amongst us, I for one loved him, overlooking his shortcomings and enjoying his goals. If he came back that love would be lessened a little, so I would probably say spend the money elsewhere. I still think a winger is our priority at the moment. I'm hearing Jerome Thomas has signed/about to sign for palace-gutted if that's true!
I think to get Morison off us it'll take around 1m and while I think fans might say it'll be much less, he was playing in the prem last season and has had quite a lot of successful spells with other clubs. If its less than that, we may as well keep him and see how he improves with a full pre-season behind him, a new start (away from everything that supposedly happened at Norwich) and the hopes that McDermott will get more out of him. I think we coulda got around 2m for Becchio at the time purely because of the goals he scored but imo he is no way worth that much and I would like us to look elsewhere if we were to try and get another striker of that style in. morning by the way elland
Morning MB, Morison looks like he should be a good player though. I am wondering whether McDermott can get the most out of him... Moro doesn't just miss. He misses chances that Batty would have put away Becchio was a great goal scorer, but fell over far far too much. Agree with you about a winger. Will be interesting to see what McDermott can do with Hall
Morning Josh, if we had the work rate and stature of Morison with Becchio's eye for goal, that would have been a good player. The rumours for Beckford have gone very quiet.
Bolton. How do they balance their books? How can they afford to pay Mills 25k a week? What are their home receipts like?
I have no idea but from what I have been told Beckford is pretty keen to get a deal there and is dropping his wages demands from what he is on at Leicester (I have no idea by how much) but they are still discussing wages so still could be too much. Its probably why there trying to get Mills off the books, he can't be on 25k surely? remember they do have parachute payments so that could be how they can manage to afford this anyway

In fairness to Moro, I have seen glimpses from him. A couple of runs and touches that have been really good, add the goals that he scored against Palace which were both good finishes especially one of em which was very good. It seems like he is either struggling with confidence, he is out of touch and perhaps carrying some niggles or his head is elsewhere. I have full confidence that he will be 100 times better next season providing he gets a good pre-season and concentrates on the club properly. Fans got on his back very quickly when he got here (within a couple games even), that may not have helped
