Just wanted to wish you boys good luck for the coming season in every game but the two we play against you. I have always liked Saints since your Keegan era which lit up my youth. I have always felt that you were a bit like us (Norwich) - well run regional club looking to play football the right way.with noisy blue neighbours down the road who are now skint. I reckon you have a pretty decent shout at staying up although you can never tell which of your squad will make the grade. Are you confident you can stay up this season?
Thanks fella. One of my favourite away trips is to Carrow road. Always friendly and I meet up with some customers for a beer.
I am quietly confident we'll be OK again this season. I think we have strengthened sensibly and the squad have a year's experience in the league behind them which hopefully will stand us in good stead and help us avoid second season syndrome. I think that all the promoted clubs of the last two seasons will need a decent start otherwise it is a long, hard climb in April/May when the squad depth of the bigger clubs really comes into play. In truth given the huge amount of cash being piled into the PL by Sky in 13/14 I would take 17th today with a view to investing the our ground to get it up to 35k and clear all of our debt. I can see the gap between the PL and Champ becoming even more of a chasm in the coming years and I know which side of the gap I want Norwich to be.
Agreed about the gap, would love us to stay on the big money side to. Honestly i don't think our chairman would except anything less, in his head we can conquer Europe in a few years, and to be fair he's worked wonders so far but that is the dream. I'm confident that most of our 1st team squad can make the step up but our depth is a little worrying and there are a couple of key positions in which i don't believe we are strong enough for PL, but we'll see what else happens in the transfer window. We shocked people last year so maybe we can do the same again this year. Good luck to us both.
At least Ipswich have won something and don't have members of their board stumbling onto the pitch while drunk at half time.
Dont be a spoiltsport PL - Delia's rousing, if drunken, ramble at half time in that match has gone down in football folk-law ! Think most fans would prefer passionate, if drunken, board members like Delia to half the toffee-nosed so-and-so's that inhabit club boardrooms. Personally i have always liked both Norwich City and Ipswich Town - both very similar to Saints in many respects and there have been some cracking games between us and both those clubs.
Hopefully some more of this Norfolkbhoy... No Rosario nowadays but still... There always seems to be a **** load of goals between us. Good luck next year, sincerley hope you do well (again).
Had some good matches over the years remember going to Norwich on a hot august day is the late 70's on our return to league one. Horrendous journey by coach. Then we lost, Macdougal scored for us, but we had some really good craic with the Norwich fans in their social club.
Just to make me feel better for us giving away the lead in the away fixture, enter a young lean Matt Le Tissier..
Thought Norwich did a far better job than Swansea last year, got the job done without everyone getting wet over it. Hope you can do well this season too
It was cringe-worthy! But quite amusing nonetheless. Though I'd certainly take Delia over any of our recent owners in a flash. Regardless of any half-time drunken antics!
