From a few sources on the BBC gossip column

    Sweet zombie jesus!

"Newcastle are keeping tabs on Celtic captain Scott Brown as the midfielder approaches the final year of his contract. (Daily Mail) "

"Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is weighing up an immediate £6m move for Celtic midfielder Scott Brown and could use goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who was on loan with the Glasgow club, in a player-plus-cash deal. (Daily Express)"

All I can say to the first one is "no thank you", to the second one if with a hint of truth has me lost for words.

Seems unlikely considering Pardew said Scottish football was **** not so long ago. Plus didn't I read somewhere that the Mail and Express are merging soon? That explains why it's on both of their sites.

Not just another midfielder, but a Scots midfielder. There's a big difference between the EPL and the SPL, has AP lost the plot?

He's a hard worker and a good leader, as are Nolan and Barton and he can't get near either of them in terms of ability.

I don't see that as being a problem, when he puts in a hearty tackle and wins the ball he can pass to someone who is good at long shooting.
