Whilst United has only the title and the "tiny" Europa Cup to go for, our esteemed neighbours the scousers have declared they are going for the Treble. Skrtel says (in the metro) he is so proud that his club is involved in the treble: the FA Cup, the Carling Cup and a champions league place aka 4th place.

What a season they are having!!

Premier League, Europa League, Community Shield.

Still less of a plastic treble than their 2001 effort... <ok>

Hate all you want but no one's said we're gonna win the title/cl, but compared to little over a year ago when we were in the relegation zone we've improved a lot. Remember when the table looked like this? http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/...ate=1288456200000&tableView=CURRENT_STANDINGS

geez you complain when you say we aim to high and are deluded and now we're optimistic about realistic targets and you're still having a pop. Maybe we should just be negative 24/7

I say good luck to 'em. They have been through some lean times recently, and Dalglish is doing a good job on rebuilding them - compared to how they were when he took over, a Cup final and CL's football is progression.

Besides, it's nice to have a bit of competition - makes it sweeter when we tonk them :)

Rafa got sacked for finishing 7th with no CL football. After spending a hundred million where are Liverpool 2/3rds through the season? 7th with no CL football.

Astounding progression considering how bad Arsenal and Chelsea have been.

I see your point, but it's also worth noting that when Dalglish took over you were 19 points off the top of the table. Here you are, just over a year later, 21 points off the top of the table and exactly as far behind us as you were after 25 games of last season. Which doesn't seem all that much like progress considering the money spent and the fact that you haven't had the **** start to this season that you had last year.

    Good for them I say!

    Liverpool fans:

Which one would you like most out of the 3?

    - FA Cup
    - League Cup
    - CL Qualification

In that order for me. I know I should look at the £'s involved in the CL but isn't football all about winning things?

I haven't seen the quote but I don't agree with Skrtel, 4th is nothing other than money and the prestige of playing in the CL.

United fans which would you rather have:

    FA Cup
    League Cup
    Premier League or
    CL Qualification?

Now let's be honest, Spurs have a better chance of the league than you because they are the more consistent.

    So, over to you guys!

And they're calling this a treble? My god Liverpool love to clutch at straws. <laugh>

They'll struggle to obtain the "double", let alone the "treble".

Sounds so bleeding ridiculous. <laugh> <laugh>

I've found the article the OP is talking about and here is Skrtel's quotes...

    Source: http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/footba...artin-skrtel-has-eyes-on-hat-trick-of-success

No mention of Skrtel calling it a treble...

In the meantime, despite them bagging 6 last Sun and having a cup final next Sun - the hot topic on the LFC board is our very own Sir Ryan.

LFC treble - Pot, Kettle, and Spade.

As I have already stated in my previous post, Spurs have more chance of the league than you guys so you can cross that one off the list really - God, you guys aren't the smartest are you!

Where has anyone classed it as a treble? Another fabrication from OT to detract from a poor season where you will finish second and without silverware. You say we're bitter - Can you also adbise why it's nonsense to state facts that Spurs are the more consistent team out of the two of you? From where I am sat, the results pretty much speak for themselves and if they continue they can at least steal 2nd place from under your noses.

What do you put their greater consistency down to?

The fact that they've won fewer games than we have?
The fact that they've lost more games than we have?
The fact that they've scored fewer goals than we have?
The fact that they've conceded as many goals as we have?
Or the fact that they're 5 points behind us?

    Facts, the Rafa way.

Even if we don't win it, it's nice to be in the mix up come the end of the season. Do you remember what that feels like?

    YNWAYSB.

Don't confuse the lad. He's trying to make a point here. 7th is the future. Just ask Rafa.
