not really tbh. depends how you look at things.

for example we just had geese culling around our way. reason being the population was getting too big and to ensure their survival and other animals culling was seen as the best option. All the 'we love animals' brigade happy for it to happen because it was the HUMANE thing to do.

humans killing humans creates an uproar and is unpalatable, yet we kill other animals. to a god are we not in the same category as the geese?

    I meant humanity in general.
I'm sure that you'd agree that we're not perfect.

What has life of Brian got to do with the validity of belief? TLOB isn't a pop at God, it's a pop at organised, controlled religion and their hypocrisy. The God belief is implanted in all of us, no doubt, when his time comes, you will find the OP begging God for forgivness. Belief in God and belief in the validity of the Bible, Koran, Torah are not the same things (although I've yet to read the Koran, although i've heard that it makes far more sense and isn't as contradictory as the bible. eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth or forgive your enemies and turn the other cheek are so diametrically opposite that the bible makes God look like a schitzophrenic mad man if you also believe that Jesus was God.
If we could happily obey Gods laws we would live in Utopia, sadly 99% of the human race is foolish, petty, vindictive arrogant, greedy, and cruel.

ok? I thought you meant imperfect as in disabled etc

It depends on what you mean by 'we're not perfect' I guess.

If god exists and is perfect, then we clearly don't live up to that standard, do we?

my argument is similar to some of what you say.

Most people reject the idea of religion, God etc based solely on their experience of 1 religion. As I say most athiests I know are ex catholics who reject everything based on catholicism, and believe other religions to be 'like catholicism'

Well I read some bullshit last night about the christian god existing in more than 1 dimension of time and the islamic god existing in our dimension of time.

This multidimensional crap was the answer to every point that all but proved god couldnt exist ( in the christian sense ).

The christian site also claimed that while none of the proofs proved their god didnt exist it did prove all other gods were made up as to be god you had to be above our single dimension of time in order to create the universe etc etc.

This **** gets crazier by the second.
