How many have we scored this season so far? I reckon you can count them on one hand. Is this not the problem we need to fix then? With our current crop or excellent wingers we should be crossing the balls like mad....but we don't for obvious reasons.

How many of his 9 has Darious Henderson scored from headers?

I think you could count them on one finger.

I reckon you could count them on one finger! I think it is a problem. Not so much from open play but certainly from set pieces. In fairness, I think we've definitely been working on it. We've tried taking corners short, tried a couple of variations from free-kick's and tried the old, lift the ball up signal too. i tweeted at Coventry wondering if PT was back!

Just done a quick check and I reckon OLM and I were right. Koren's header at Southampton is our only one.

So we just need a goal scoring poacher who scores with his head most of the time this Jan....problem solved.

Hence why Oli will be an asset when match fit. He scored from corners and free kicks for Cardiff City last season.

Oli could well be the answer to this small problem. Then again, the corners and free kicks need to beat the first defender first of all ? <eek>

Or, as Tickler says, to get goals from elsewhere from set pieces. Oily scored goals for Cardiff but never looked a threat when he was here before.

Oli wont be playing for us. His wages go up if he plays one more game, he will be out on loan asap.

I was told recently that the wage increase thing is a myth and that he actually actually had a relegation clause and is on less than we think.

    We were skint.

And though I'm suggesting he's not on the money we thought he was, he's still probably on twice as much as the rest of our first XI.

Simpson and Olly are the 2 players I really want to see in the first team again...I just hope we don't sell them before seeing what they can do under Barmby's management.

Thats Not what Nick Barmby has been saying in the press. He rates Oli and Oli can add something to the team that so far we lack ? ie. goals from headers.

Am with you on ^^^^^^^ this. Oli especially. But I feel that OJ's London roots will be the big issue now.

I don't see Oily being a first team player. His defensive work is crap so he shouldn't replace McKenna or Evans and he doesn't do enough going forward to threaten Koren's place. We have to get shut if anyone will take him. He's a solid bench option otherwise.

I noticed that Simpson was subbed at half time three games ago, then he was obviously ineligible to play in the next game as it was against us, but he wasn't even in the squad for their Boxing Day game. Anyone know if he's injured?

Cant be arsed to trawl the archives but there is an interview where Oli states he didnt get played because it triggered a clause in his contract of i think 3 grand. Why would he be the only one of Duffens cavalier signings to have a relegation clause inserted in his contract??
If he has come to some agreement and waived his right to that then great but i doubt it. It was widely accepted he was on 27 grand a week We were paying 16 and Cardiff the other 11. While he has been injured insurance will have been paying I assume.
Would be a good addition to the squad but he wouldnt get in my first eleven and at those wages we cant let him warm the bench.

I wonder if Barmby will tell Homer that he can't go until we find a suitable replacement...if we can't then he stays until the summer window, at which time we'll let him leave....he could score 10 goals for us in that time...especially with our new attacking ethos.
