Before I set off for 300 round trip Saturday, and checking the heavy snow forecast, and knowing the hopeles PR news bulletins, can someone please alert me by say 10 if they know the match has been called off. I have chains and all gear....but last time it fell heavily, I was advised by Suffolk radio only 10 miles away! Many thanks
Good Luck Gaffer <OK> Though in recent years we seem to be invincible in the snow it's that pesky ice that causes us issues as those Middlesborough fans are all too aware of.
Apparently we've had the covers down and the heat blowers on, so the pitch should be OK, I think the doubt is about how heavy the snowfall will be and if they can clear the paths etc in time - damn health and safety!
Supposedly there's a blizzard on the way. Game will be off. Get yourself to Blockbuster and rent a film. For old time's sake.
Well i have a ticket and the last game i got to was Middlesborough so take from that what you will...
Many thanks everyone...I am not a blockbuster bloke, more Lovefilm which the lady enjoys too. I have got me ticket so hopefully the game will be on. Yes, I read the club notice about covers etc...sounds hopeful. It would be efficient if they took mobile numbers and were able to txt us if game was cancelled. But thats too hitec! I look forward to it and should be first of 2 6 pointers. I do like MM's dealings and would love to see DJ back so soon. Quite a line-up for last third of season, strong bench, and, more importantly, planning ahead for few years to come.
Just over 12hrs till kick off, no extra snow so far, as it stands reckon it will be on, just depends on amount we get over night, temps are supposed to stay around 0C so fingers crossed....!
There's no snow here in Yorkshire since yesterday evening but Birmingham and Southampton airports are closed so there's obviously snow about.
Loughborough is looking very dodgey at present (more so than usual ) I wouldn't be at all surprised if the majority of football league fixtures are called off simply as a precaution
i probably ask this every season, but why is it your club hasn't got undersoil heating? by the way, lots of snow here in norfolk. i've got 12 inches*... and lots of snow too! safe travels to everyone. i've decided against a trip to liverpool, not cos of the weather but cos of the people of liverpool *its actually more like 12cm but that sounds very inadequate
well thats true - the old 'health and safety' brigade. never understood why they don't come out in force when my club plays in the snow! i fell over last season. maybe i should sue...
If there is fresh snow fall in Ipswich tonight the game will be postponed eventhough the pitch is playable.
