Global thread poll

Mixed reactions all around really. I think the global threads annoy some (e.g. the NUFC fans because our board is clogged) and not others (e.g. boards with little activity). This is clearly evident by the same poll on our board where the results are:

1 in favour
7 'just for major events'
18 against

 

Just to inform that the votes for major events is also for important info

 

I agree about not overmoderating this site - and the global thread is a good function if used for football issues that interest fans in general. The Dean Richards memorial page that I saw on the Toon board earlier would be a good example, but then some might say that they don't want it rammed down their throats. Maybe there could be separate moderator to oversee the global threads, with the understanding that threads are about Football issues that are of interest to all?

Without a doubt, global threads would be good as a "live match thread"
But I want to know, what is the advantage to posting pictures and Games on the Global Thread instead of the General Forum?

The people who want to participate will go to those posts if they want.

 

You can never please evreyone 100% of the time, you change something for 20 members and 100 members will say they hate it.

it is the subject matter though more than the actual Global Threads (for me anyway) its a pitty this forum doesnt let you have a thread in 2 forums simultaniously, like Newcastle-Sunderland 1 thread both can answer in the same thread, but thats the forum softwares fault not the admins (actually BBC 606 is the only place i have seen that).

I just think forum games shouldnt be global threads, and as someone else said, the terracing debate and threads of that ilk should be. (subjects about football that cover all/most, clubs/fans)

Why is it so hard to understand that this is a football forum, not a gaming website! For those that are finding it hard to understand, we're all here to discuss football and share our views with others. I wouldn't of signed up to this, if it was a GAMING site.
