KEMP ROUNDS ON CITY CRITICS AFTER HEAVY DEFEAT AT NEWCASTLE!

I am quite a reasonable person and understand that it is very easy for the press and associated fans to jump the gun, but......just read the below quote!

"Newcastle have got some quality, lets be honest, and are very dangerous in the final third. Add that to their fitness and organistaion, and thats why they are in the top four."

So in conclusion Kemp has established that we dont have the same quality upfront (40 million spent on strikers alone) and are not dangerous in the final third - compared to Newcastle. He also pointed out that they were fitter and better organised and hence above us in the league!

Had a quick look at the transfer league which covers 2006-2011 and we have a NET spend in that period of (Plus) +60 million against Newcastle's (Minus) -19 Million! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Smither's
I read that earlier.. It seem's that the delusion is contagious.. Let's hope we the fans don't catch it! Not a chance who do they think they are trying to fool?
I also read the comments by Sue Bryan, like me she was at SJP and she is SPOT ON correct... we ALL saw the same game.

I laughed when I read Dave Kemps comment as, seems that everyone on the staff at SCFC use the same optician.
I laughed becasue I simply could not believe what he had actually said.

    I said on Saturday night..

We we're outplayed that's fair enough given Newcastles amazing season.

BUT they we're not just fitter.
They can actually PASS, SHOOT,HIT the target play with PASSION and PACE.. all basic requirements for a premier League footballer/ squad, at least I would assume that they were.

Both he and Pulis are obviously ******* idiots. SORRY to be so blunt that's all I can say to be honest, it's getting worse by the day.

If you read Martin Spinks' column in the Sentinel (and he never says anything directly detrimental to the message that TP wants propogated), even he appears to have reached a conclusion that many players in the current squad have "probably given the team the best that they have to offer", with only a few capable "of offering more" in the years to come.

Looking at the team that played at Newcastle, I imagine that the players who can not improve over what they have previously shown for SCFC are as follows:

Wilkinson,Whelan, Whitehead, Etherington, Walters - and then Crouch (because to score 13 goals with the level of service we provide is quite an exceptional achievement - without a drastic change in the way we play (which under TP is unlikely to happen), he will do well to achieve the same next year, and Huth (player of the year last year, possibly this year and bound to be moved to right back when TP signs Ledley King).

Could improve - Begovic, Shawcross, both with more experience, Wilson (when played in midfield) Palcios (when fit and actually allowed to go into the opposition half), Shotton - when played as an overlapping full back.

Of those who did not get onto the pitch - Jerome, can improve if given a run in the team, Pennant - won't improve on his first year while Pulis is in charge, Fuller -definitely won't improve, Jones - needs the right service, again won't get that under TP's one attack every 30 minutes philosophy, Sorenson -won't let us down, Upson agin not going to improve.

Clearly a lot of work needs to be done in the Summer, which brings us back to the main cause of the problem -TP.

If we do not show some pace and ability in the 3 remaining home games, I would not be suprised to hear the first chants of discontent aimed at the Manager (not the team).

So Pulis has a yes man sycophant - sad but not unexpected.

I never thought that I would live long enough to say this, but I am pig sick of the football club known as Stoke City.

    Thanks Pulis

    I hear what u r all sayin !
and yes i agree to many degrees ... but !
When we beat Arsenal will this go away or are we still stuck in the same problem ?
Does anybody think in terms of transfer activity we are still playin catch up yr by yr ?
Is it a case of who we can attract to our shores ?
It might be ? it also might be cause of TP s tactics mmmm
I think there is a massive number of factors in this football club !!
Its a long road in prem footy and i honestly think Newcastle av got lucky big time !!!
Who wud of employed Pardew ? seriously !!!
    Cheap quick fix
and simply there signings av gone beserk .. dont get me wrong . cant fault em .. but it was a massive gamble thats paid off ..
Im sure they cant believe whats happened also !!
regardless of what they say !!
the truth is what it is ....

It's no secret we've spent some cash, but remember Newcastle got £35m for a big greasy lump, and got the 4th Prem goal scorer for feck all, so they've been rather lucky in that aspect, and that's how come they're on -19m.

For me Potter it wont go away if we beat Arsenal because the fundemental problems are evry present within "this football club" since promotion.

You are 100% correct in stating that there are numerous mitigating factors to the reasons why we are in our current situation (transfers, styles, sucess etc..) but really there is only on common denominator and for me the comments by kemp just highlight how devoide of ideas a dn deluded they are in rectifying the issue! Now we kno why Peter Ried went!

One word came to my mind when I read it and it was "pathetic"

It's the fans that deserve the break not Pulis and his cronies. He has continually blagged us for four seasons now with the promise it will take time and we have to build. He has squandered millions on Tat and playing worse football than we were 3 seasons ago with the same old robots so it's us the Stoke faithful that deserve the break!

Still playing for throw in's and sacrificing oneof our best players to get someone else on that can throw the ball long it's a joke. Tired of being mugged off by Pulis to be honest.
