I know Fonts loss of confidence was responsible for a lot of the goals conceeded in our relegation year but the main reason for his poor form was that DM and SOD played him out of position on the right side of defence and he couldn`t cope with it, If SC can use him in the correct position and use his motivational skills to pump up his moral we could have a good left sided defender on our hands. Remember how good he was a few years ago. But if the crowd get on his back from the off it will destroy him. So give him a chance!!!
no he's had to many. If you give a man a gun and he kept accidently shooting people you would take the gun away and not give him the chance to hold it again. He's ****ed us over to many times, He will be alright for back up but don't want him in the first team. Would rather see Carey Flint and Osborne.
Said it before would love to see him regain the player he once was. But I honestly don't think we will give him a chance. I can imagine if he plays he will be blamed for a goal somewhere. Shame really because the break could of done him good from us. But I see his future somewhere else who will help him to regain that player.
Nearly right Shiny If you give a man a gun and he shoots anyone you take away the gun and you lock him up
I remember him playing on the left it was lewin who played on the right and if I got that wrong hes a professional footballer he should be able to play either just cause hes 5 yards from where he would like to be should make no difference.
I think the issue is he is one of our highest paid players at the club so does not offer value for money
http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Liam-F...fans-manager/story-20400724-detail/story.html At least he has had the bollocks to apologise, the guy deserves a chance and he'll get support from me.... ' Liam Fontaine offered a heartfelt thank you to Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill and the Ashton Gate fans after making an emotional return to first team action in today’s FA Cup third round clash with Watford.'
The problem with Fonts is, he could have three or four man of the match performances, make one mistake, we lose the game, and it will be back to square one, will he win the fans back, knowing how fickle some are, that remains to be seen.
246 games - he deserves a bit of support - glad to see he got it Players are human beings - most of them react well to support Some of the stuff that went on before was appalling (like the idiots who booed him when he came on as sub before he went out on loan) As SC said this was a big game for Liam (so it matters to him) - was really pleased he played well
