What do you think we paid for the transfers. I think Mr Scally must have paid around 200k so far which is amazing as we all thought we had no money. Will we have anymore money for Birchall? Is it possible that we may have to sell J Payne to ballance the books as he may struggle to get in the team. Promotion is now expected.:emoticon-0100-smile

Kedwell was believed to be around £100k according to one source but releasing the likes of McCammon, Bentley even Bayo to some extent would have helped to finance these moves.

We had money from wembley before and from selling Jackson, Scally had money he just put it away for a rainy day, and yeah now without most of our high earners our wage budget has been freed up. this is a sign that Scally does want to take the club forward and still put money in.

As Manchester Gill said, the departure of players such as those would have freed up a lot of money. All were probably top earners at the club, and even now I think Fish, Kedwell, Flitney and Montrose won't be earning as much as some of the others that have left. If you weigh it all up, even with a reduced budget the club would have money left for any fees that were needed to be paid.

If Kedwell cost 100k I'm very interested to know how much we paid for the Peterborough boys!

The Peterborough two according to fans up there, cost 50k. If that's true, its a steal.

Thanks for that vinney. Must agree that's an absolute bargain. But in the same breath annoys me slightly Kedwell cost double that? Lee and Whelpdale are proven talents, Kedwell is not yet.

Don't get me wrong I'm happy we have Kedwell!! Just football sometimes baffles me.

goal scoring strikers are always more expensive and i think 'borough just wanted those 2 off the wage bill as they said they didnt want to stay/sign a new contract and save losing them on a free at the end of next year, which always drive the price down.

plus we would have had a few of the add ons from the jacko sale, appearances, goals scored, promotions etc and with the coppa america around the corner we should get the internaltional ones. these are guesses at the add ons, wouldnt be suprised if we had a 15%-20% sell on clause as well :p

in all honesty, jack payne isnt worth alot now. he was, but he didnt have the best season due to injury which would have lowered his price.
